This is probably one of best places I visited in Pachmarhi. The cave temple below is beautiful and the temperature there is faaar less than the town. The steps to reach to the bottom of the cave making it approachable for most people.
Jatashankar (also Jata Shankar) is a natural cave and Hindu shrine located north of Pachmarhi, in Madhya Pradesh, India. Jatashankar is located in a deep ravine with enormous boulders perched above. The cave contains stalagmites which are revered as naturally formed lingams. The cave serves as a shrine to the God Shiva and is a popular destination for pilgrims. Jata means hair and Shankar is another name of Lord Shiva. There are two ponds fed by springs found in the locality, one of cold water and the other one of hot water. The cave structure resembles to a hundred head snake named Sheshnag a mythological character. It's located in Pachmarhi MP . It's a holy place to worship lord Shiva. It's all surrounded by rocks and mountains. Very natural beauty that amazes and mesmerised. This temple is open in the sunrise and closed with sun set. To reach Baba Bholenath temple you will have to walk lots of steps maybe 500 to 600. There you get Hurbal medicines like very huge onion, and many hurbs ,oils, Hurbal powder etc available here for the care of many decease. Those people are love to nature and their beauty must visit this temple and pachmarhi. Worth visiting place.

Activa goes even after the market, ask people around there. There is a short walk but stairs might make some people take rest. Avoid Buying from ayurvedic shops that are on stairs, they do trickery to make you believe that they are different from other money mongers but they arent, save your money. spend at least 30 min down near the temple. you'll have to crawl near the end before reaching the idol. but the atmosphere there is quite peaceful and serene. enjoy the peace !
This temple is unique as its carved out of a cave and there are huge steps that you need to climb down to reach the shivling. In some areas, one must crouch and take pradakshina or reach the shivling. The whole experience was amazing. The best part of this temple are its surroundings which is full of trees, caves and huge rock cut patterns. It's best to visit this place in rainy or winters. Also for elderly people with knee or leg pain, it will be difficult to climb downstairs as currently there isn't any lift or other facility available.
