This temple hosts the lord Shiva in Jalalingam form (one of the 5 elemental forms). The temple construction is a giant one. The Amman temple and her idol are a must visit. This temple is near the Lord ranganathar temple. ***Dress code is not a mandatory one, but dhoti and vesthi is preferable****
Jambukeswarar Temple, Thiruvanaikaval is a famous Shiva temple in Tiruchirapalli district, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Though it is that Kocengannan, one of the Early Cholas, have built this temple. It is located in the Srirangam island, which has the famous Ranganathaswamy temple.
Temple and it's sculptures are well designed and maintained properly, the main entry through this temple which is also a passage for house & Shop inside. The temple is covered in a vast area. Similar Entrance arches present inside, way towards temple
The Lord Mahadev in the water element form gives darshanam to the devotees. Many legends are there emphasizing the holiness of the temple The temple complex is huge with long stroke corridors. Entire great architecture made in stone is amazing. Unless the artisans were good gifted no such marvellous structures can be seen.

It is one of the famous Lord Shiva temples, This temple is believed to have bee built by King Kokenganan of the powerful Hindu Chola dynasty. This temple has a mysterious underground water stream. The fascinating fact is that the base of this lingam is constantly submerged in water . Once Lord Shiva sent Parvati to Earth to do penance after she mocked him. Parvati took on the avatar of Goddess Akilandeswari and came to the Jambu forest. She made a Shiv lingam out of the waters of river Cauvery and worshipped it. Moved by her penance, it is said that Lord Shiva finally came down and taught Akilandeswari the Siva Gnana. Akilandeswari took her lessons facing East whereas her tutor, Lord Shiva, faced west. Incidentally, in the temple, the deities of Lord Shiva and Parvati are installed opposite to each other in accordance with the legend. Very nice temple and historical importance place..
