Jalsa - Modern Indian restaurant in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

Few months ago visited this place just out of curiosity since it was a new place in the city. The name and the ambience are absolutely interesting. Located at few minutes walking distance from Vardaan Market, Camac Street. Tried the following items- Bhetki sushi- it was tasty and well balanced flavours of Indian and Asian cuisine. Chicken Biryani, Popcorn drink, Baklava. Presentation of each dish was quite innovative and interesting.

Premium Indian fine dining. Refined and upgraded takes on some classics. Laal Maas Tacos and Baingan Bhartha Hummus with Falafels are must tries

My experience was very good. The food quality, quantity, taste, staff behaviour, ambience all were awesome. We went there for lunch and we had, Dal chawal Aranchini, Pindi Chana, veg biryani, Naan. In drinks we had cola blast and gandhoraj virjin mojito. For dessert we had chef special Frozen mango Popcorn. All the items were at its best, however price for some were a bit high but it can be compromised seeing their Hospitality.

If you are around parkstreet or maidan and wondering where to go for a fine dine , Jalsa should be your go to option . The atmosphere is lit. The place gives an aesthetic vibe. Staffs are so courteous. Coming to food- we ordered dhuadhar laal murgh , tequila mango bhetki (Must try), even I heard laal maas tacos are good too. We also ordered chicken biryani ( which was average) .

Lovely ambience , decor and the food is definitely worth a mention. We tried there curated menu and it was delight . The presentations steal your heart and the taste of every thing on the menu is so so good. You can also have options of private dining. The staff is very courteous. It's not just taste it's an experience I must say.Must visit

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Jalsa, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing restaurant visits I have ever had while in the city. The unprofessional service, lack of attentiveness to customers, and overemphasis on eavesdropping on customers' conversations left me thoroughly dissatisfied. To begin with, the service at the restaurant was nothing short of unprofessional. The staff appeared disinterested and indifferent towards their customers. They were often forgetting simple requests and leaving us waiting for extended periods. The overall lack of attentiveness gave the belief that they were more concentrated on their own conversations and personal affairs rather than delivering quality service. Furthermore, the quality of the food was subpar. Many of the dishes we ordered arrived unappetizing. It was evident that the ingredients lacked freshness, and the flavors were dull and unremarkable. It was a disappointing experience to pay for a meal that failed to satisfy even the most basic standards of quality and taste. One particularly irksome aspect of our visit was the restaurant's apparent obsession with eavesdropping on customers' conversations. The waitstaff seemed more inquisitive in hovering nearby and listening in on personal chatters than listening to the demands of their diners. This invasion of privacy created an awkward atmosphere and made it difficult to enjoy the meal with family. Altogether, my experience at Jalsa was incredibly disappointing. The unprofessional service, inattentiveness to customers & the focus on customers' conversations were all major bummers. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a restaurant that values professionalism, customer satisfaction, and quality cuisine.

Excellent food! The turmeric gin was good too. Good and courteous service. Even though it is experimental fine dining, it was surprisingly not expensive.

Located at one of the prime location in Central Kolkata, this place serve amazing Starters. Their Drinks are equally good. They have a separate room for private groups lunch/dinner. Staffs were Friendly. Service is good. Price wise bit expensive. But food was good,specially starters. Overall good experience.
