Whenever I visit Amritsar I visit Jalianwala Bagh to not forget the suffering of the people and the pain caused by the British. Last few times was always very emotional. This time around it was different. They beautified the place and made it a tourist attraction, so wrong. The originality has vanished and feel like we forgetting the past. The modernization maybe important but they messed it up, IMOx They kept a couple of walls with bullet holes rest everything is covered up with grass. It sad to see this happening. If u have never been here, do definitely go, it is painful part of Indian history. But the originality is not there.

Visited after many years and whole structure has been changed. Now it has a beautiful garden will lots of flowers. Light show is also there. Place is well maintained

Historical place..very well maintained..neat and clean..everybody should visit this place and specially the museum to remember the history again..still the bullet holes will give you the chills in the bones ..this place stands tall and as an example of Indian willpower,strength, patriotism against the tyrants..very emotional and inspiring

Historical place, well maintained and renovated recently. The museum displays the story and should visit with your children and let the see the history and visit the cemetery too.

This is the historical buildings with museum. Had history link with our freedom fight. Have light and sound show in the evening. Must to be visited place during your visit to Amritsar

Ever since i was a kid, always wanted to visit this place. The cruelty endured and massacre even today gives me jitters. I would not say this incident fuelled the moment for freedom but a monumentary evidence how cruel humans can be! Keeping history aside this place is a significant part of the freedom struggle. Once crampy old streets with a narrow alleyway leading to maidan,now its rather placed towards a side with newly built structures all around. You can navigate to this place very well and its very much close to the golden temple. The place is built with red bricks and starts with a narrow alley way where dyer had his machine guns placed to block the facade. Now i hear its been renovated with murals of the freedom fighters, but i liked the old way which is subjective. Narrow alley opens into the wide maidan where the massacre happened. In the beginning there is an amar jyoti followed by a gallery and opposite to this the well. At the end of the maidan there is a wall where bullet markings are highlighted. While on your way back to the right there is a small museum dedicated to the survivors and the ones who have sacrificed their lives in the process. What could have been better we must have preserved our history better. If we really tried hard there are many stories to be told or could have added many collectibles to the museum. This place is strictly for people who want reminisce the past,acknowledge the struggle and epitome of human cruelty. This is one such place where i couldn't smile even if i wanted to, it is like a jolt to the brewing patriotism. The another such place i encountered is the jhansi fort! Every step i walked here is only imagining what it could have been if i was there at the moment. How helpless all those people were,the only request i have for people who want to visit this place is show the respect they deserve,mourn the losses rather expecting a stroll like any other park.

Nice, clean park with swings and gym.. good for walks and spending time in fresh air and wintery sunny day...
