Jaisalmer Fort - Historical landmark in Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, India

This fort now hosts many businesses. This makes it little different than other forts in this modern day visit. Because other forts just have the historical significance. There are 3 temples inside the fort with very good architectural designs. We were interested to buy the fossil some at the place but later heard from someone outside that it is just a scam and does not convert milk to curd and all said the other stories floating around are just false.

We were actually able to a lot of Jaisalmer Fort as we were staying inside it. I guess that is why it is called a living Fort and I understand it's about 860 years old or at least 860 years of history. It must've been an amazing trading place in its day and its still incredible given the architecture history and culture in the area. Stay inside the the Fort if you get the chance

One of the oldest surviving living fort of the world. It's an amazing place, inhabited by over 4000 people, residents live, work, pray and play inside the fort area. Take a day out from your trip to visit the narrow lanes, handicraft shops with, embroidery works, antiques, paintings, roof top cafes just to name a few.. just visit and experience.

The fort is very nice. It's a live fort as the descendents are living there. You can do shopping also inside the fort. However, It's best to shop outside the fort as there is much bargaining, almost 50%. So, just visit and enjoy. Apart from this, you can enjoy Sunset from the top of the fort, which is marvelous.

Jaisalmer Fort is amazing and extremely huge. So much so that you can easily get lost there and yet there are 3k to 4k people living there to help you navigate anywhere you get stuck. The fort is an epitome of architectural excellence especially the ancient Jain Temples within the premises of the fort. Would highly recommend exploring the fort on your own if you have time at your own pace. Don't miss the cannon view point as well
