Jahangir Palace - Historical place in Agra - Agra, India

Visiting this fort makes you feel part of the history. This fort is very well maintained. At the entry guides will be behind you. They asked Rs 1800 at the entry saying that it is huge. We almost fell for it but resisted as my son was not keen. if you take it outside. We resisted temptation and walked in. After the gates, another guide agreed at one third of the cost outside. I strongly recommend that you take a guide to explain everything. One key part is that even though it looks massive from outside, only 25% of it is actually available for tourists. The remaining fort is under the army. The fort is very well maintained and a must visit place

Great place to visit, go for Taj Mahal first and if you have time visit Agra fort, there is also a great view of Taj Mahal. We saw both in one day with a guide who drove us around.

Akbar had built several palaces in the Agra Fort, and his son and successor Jahangir had added to them. These comprise the Jahangiri Mahal and Akbari Mahal, both approached through a beautiful gate decorated with red sandstone and yellow dholpur stone. The palaces inside are small, made almost completely of red sandstone, very intricately carved, and with some traces of beautiful painted and incised plaster. The Agra Fort ticket, Rs 35 per Indian adult, covers these palaces. An interesting artefact just outside the gate here is Jahangir's bath tub, shaped like a giant tea cup with rough steps on the side to climb in.

I had a great experience at Agra fort. Fort was well planned for tourist. Neat clean and with good facilities. We got a guide who rally explained us in details about the history of the fort. At the same time he helped us to clique good photos at the main points of the fort. Really had a very good experience. Majestic! Most popular attraction inside are the squirrels. Security do not allow food inside but you can secretly smuggle 2-3 peanuts and feed them, they just come running to you if you have food for them. Very cute, children will love it! hat an amazing place, the fort, lawns, architecture, stone carved artwork on pillars and gates, everything is pure delight. If are a history buff (who loves to know about history and culture this place transcends you into a different era) this place is an absolute treat. All you have to do is to feel it.

Beside there is bath tub of 5 feet heights and 8 feet width where you can see the beautiful lawn and open gate alongside. As per stories it's not an original place of jahangir rather Akbar's. This red building with white lines makes it unique. . Actually, we cover a part of this building only. . Built by Akbar for his Hindu (Rajput) wives. .
