This is actually an over bridge over the Raniganj Railway platform. If I say more specific then it is a bridge over platform no 3. The condition of Jagannath Bridge is not so good at all. Several time I see myself to repair and the footpaths beside the bridge is in very bad condition. One side of the bridge is Taker stand and another side vegetable market is there.
Weak bridge, should be maintained carefully. Also there is a need of new one. It is the one and only railway bridge on NH60 connecting Bankura on South and Burdwan on North. There is a also a roadside market near it which creates roadjams. It is wide enough but the load is much greater than it's strength. Both side there are footpath also, but the condition of footpaths are very sorrowful.
Jagannath Bridge is situated at Girjapara RANIGANJ near Municipality More it is a part of NH60 ,main connection bridge between Birbhum and Paschim Bardhaman with Bankura and Midnapur as well as Orisha ,it is built a long ago soon after railway line is established at RANIGANJ in year 1857 ,old bridge was narrow and made with iron but 1987 newly constructed concert bridge was made and old bridge became abandoned and after that railway cut off that old bridge ,new bridge is wider and every day thousands of vehicles running through this nowadays .
This is the bridge which connect girga para with ranigunj police station and all the offices of that side.
It's the heart of Raniganj,but it requires reconstruction, the size is too short, all time jam are available here
