A barrage over Manipur river connected with Loktak lake.
It's a bridge over Manipur river along with a Dam. Whenever I visit there I love to take a walk over the bridge, that moment you experience fear,beauty,excitement..altogether, its remarkable. The security system out there is uncompromising. You are not allow to take photograph on the bridge;20mph speed limit; you have to write your name,home address,destination,vehicle no. whenever you pass the bridge.
Good place to visit with moirang kaibul lamjho national park whare khuga and imphal rivar marged and formed manipur rivar. No night stay facility avilable. NHPC dam is also located at this place .area required some tourist facility and development.
It's a Dam for all Manipur.this Dam holds the water which runs from all sides of Manipur.It holds the water of khuga river(tuitha river).it holds the water of loktak lake(the main and only water resource and fish resources of Manipur peoples).also it holds the water to produce electric power to supply all over India.
This DAM is one of the smallest but we'll function DAM... The surrounding of the DAM is well maintained by the army staying there... You have to get down from your vehicle while crossing the bridge...
It's barrage can Maintain the water level of loktak lake.
The concerned authorities need to keep the dam clean as well if it still serve its purpose.
Roads are bad. Under construction I guess. But the view is beautiful.
