Old Kothi is a historical landmark and an evidence of the bygone British era. Today this building is in complete ruins and falling apart from all sides. Maybe one day the govt will try to remodel this ancient architecture or reinstate it as a commercial or housing complex. Lets hope for the best. Recommended for history enthusiasts.
Kothi is a local word that is used for old Bungalows. This old bungalow in Barrackpore was constructed by the British East India company prior to the Battle of Plassey. This place once used to be the Barracks of the British armed force pre Plassey and pre independence of India. This place used to be the residing place of some of the famous governor generals and viceroys of British India; Lord Canning, Lord Clive and Lord Wellesley are some of them. However with time this place has turned out to be an abandoned property which is gradually getting destroyed without anyone to look after the property.

I haven't officially ordered anything materialwise yet, but the staff and owners have made a genuine effort to work with me. I will say they can make stuff just about any color you might need. Just ask. They are polite and super friendly!

Nothing but an abandoned building without any landmark. Visiting there is just wastage of time.this time should rather be spent in Mongol Pandey park.

Peaceful and coherent place to visit in Barrackpur but the ghat is actually closed all the time. Two policemen are engaged to watch over it who often sit there, made this place quite uncomfortable. Parking and eating is also prohibited there.
