Great view of Kangchenjungha as well as Darjeeling city due to height, rooms are very spacious and neatly decorated. Behaviour of the staffs is very good, service is very prompt. Food specially the breakfast buffet is of a high standard and hygienic. Overall it was a great stay and I would like to recommend this to others.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The rooms were clean and offered a beautiful view. One point of improvement would be to clearly mention on the website that the restaurant serves only vegetarian food, as this was not initially clear. Despite this, we were impressed by the quality of the food. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that the spa was non-functional, and I believe this should have been mentioned in advance. Additionally, the lack of an iron and ironing board even though it was listed in the amenities, along with the need for some upgrades such a hair dryer, room sleepers. Furthermore, the table lamp in the room was not working during our stay.

The food is very good hotel ambience is also good. Staff is also very helpful. Kiran Sharma is very cooperative. Room no 306 washroom needs little renovation. Kanchenjunga view is also very beautiful from the hotel. Overall too good.

Me and my family had a wonderful stay at Istana during our recent visit. From the ambience to the cleanliness was just very good. The warmth of the people especially the people at the reception was just too good. Almost felt like home. Special mention for Priyanka ji who was looking after the travel desk was so polite and prompt in arranging all the travel arrangements. Would highly recommend this place for all.

Very big property and walkable distance (10-15 mins) from the mall road. Slightly uphill from mall road. Property is spacious and located on height. Most of Darjeeling is visible from the balcony. The lobby is very big and give you a feel of British era. Room was spacious, well decorated but could have been maintained a bit better. Bathroom was clean but some marks were on tiles. Service was good. It has a big restaurant which serves variety of times during the complimentary breakfast. The view from the restaurant is brilliant, especially if the sky is clear. The hotel serves on Veg food but you can bring non-veg food from outside.

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. From the balcony, we could view the mountains and feel the cool breeze. The location of our room was absolutely perfect. As soon as you come out of the resort, we just need to cross the road and there is a direct path leading to the mall. Clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing. I must say the location of the resort is at best place of Darjeeling. Our stay at the hotel was for 5 days. A big thanks to the whole team of Istana specially , Mr Digendra , Mr. Kiran from restaurant and Mr Kiran Sharma from banquet ,Mr Animesh & last must not the least Mr Sahil and Mr Suraj . All respect for these guys who did a great job here. Excellent hospitality.

It was our first girl's trip and we were very excited about it. We decided on this hotel in early february . The positive reviews really attracted our attention. But what we experienced was completely opposite. We thought it would be a safe space for 3girls but sadly we were proved wrong. We were here for three days and from the second day itself the men in the room next to us started harrassing us . They would get drunk ..shout and use inappropriate language in the corridors at around 12.30 in the night .One of them even went as far as banging on our door and tried to even open it . To say we were scared to our deaths would be an understatement. We called the reception and let them know about it but it was of no avail . No steps were taken concerning this. The men kept shouting till 1.30am .This continued the second day too. After informing the reception, they assured us that they would see to it and report to us. But we didn't hear back anything from the hotel staff. We thought this would be a great experience for us . We were so excited. But we were left dissapointed and scared . This would force us to think twice before we plan any other trip . This was disheartening to say the least. I hope this review gets back to the hotel and they work on their management to make their guests feel safe under their roof. All in all i would say if you are visiting with family or even a friends trip this place is not completely safe specially for women. I would suggest you to see other options.

Great property in the midst of the city. Very well maintained. Both breakfast and Dinner was beautifully curated and served various food items from diffrent cuisines. On our day of check out we had an early flight, they packed our breafast at 04:00 am for our journey. Mr. Digendra Thapa at the restaurant and Mr. Suraj Thakur at reception were extremely supportive during our stay and pefectly managed our food and stay respectively. Property is situated at the top of Darjeeling with great view of the city however the road to reach there goes from the city and is very congested. It is great idea to enjoy the view and city from this property rather than going to the actual city which is too much crowded.
