Iruppu Falls - Brahmagiri - Featured Reviews (7790)
Beautiful place to visit post monsoon. Around a km walk from parking. There are couple of steps but easy to reach. It was full of water and one can take bath. It's bit slippery so be careful. Just at the starting point around 3-4 hundred meters the water flows down. Kids can take bath here and play in water.
It's a beautiful fall. Water level is less so they allow to get inside pool. There are different levels of fall so you can decide where you want to go. Around 1 km distance from gate till waterfall with some stairs in between. Easily accessible for families and kids. You can also see blue butterflies near to falls. Entry fees is 50 per person. Parking is available. Eateries are also there but it's over priced. Restrooms, changing room everything is available. Best time to visit early morning to avoid crowd. If you want to witnesses heavy flow then peak monsoon is the best time to visit.
Fantastic waterfall. Much better than Abbi Falls (near Madikeri). It's possible to swim in the water (but be careful on the rocks). The pictures speak for themselves.
One of the most popular and must visit falls in Coorg. The falls is located in Brahmagiri forest. The place is far from Madikeri and almost near border of Kerala. There is no public transportation and private transport is recommended. There's an entry fee for the falls. One has to trek nearly a Kilometre to reach the falls from the parking. There are shops to have snacks and juice. Best time is to visit during the end of rainy season and in winter. One can go into the falls and play in water. Comparatively it's safer to get in provided that one will not slip.Totally a must visit place and it's worth visiting
Beautiful waterfall in the forest. Relaxing and enjoyable. There is an entrance fee and ample parking there; some shops are there for snacks and tea in the entrance. Carry water and other eatables inside the forest. There are no shops inside the forest and waterfall area. A small walk from the entrance and you will see the falls. It is a beautiful place to be one with nature.
This is one of the most popular waterfalls in Coorg. As you get closer to the falls, there are multiple views of the same waterfalls you get to see and each one is nice. Opening time is like from 8to 5pm. Entry charges are Rs. 50 per head. The main attraction for this place is like we can bathe in that waterfall.
This charming waterfall is nestled in the picturesque village of Kutta, located at the Karnataka-Kerala border. Please note that the waterfall closes promptly at 5 PM, and there are vigilant security officials at the entrance who won't permit entry beyond that time. There's an admission fee of approximately Rs. 100-200 per person. Upon reaching the top, you won't be at the summit of the mountain where the waterfall originates, but you'll have a close-up view of the waterfall itself. The waterfall is roughly 500-600 meters from the main entrance, requiring a walk to the stairs and a climb of around 200-500 steps to reach the top. Families can often be seen enjoying the cascading waters, and it's recommended to ascend to the top for the best views, although some visitors find spots to sit along the way. At the waterfall's base, before the entrance, you'll find 4-5 small shops where you can grab a snack before or after your visit. Additionally, there is a changing room next to the shops, with a nominal fee of around Rs. 10 for changing or Rs. 5 for restroom use. There are changing rooms inside the main gate of the waterfall as well but you may not find them in best condition. Regarding cleanliness , the area is relatively clean, although locating a dustbin for disposing of waste can be a challenge. Changing rooms are available but may raise concerns about hygiene , as they are exclusively for women . Safety is a priority, with security personnel stationed at various points along the path. At the top, you'll find seating , benches, and great photo opportunities. The climb is not particularly strenuous, making it suitable for beginners and children. Please note that access to the waterfall's summit may be restricted, but all other seating areas are shallow and safe. This spot is a worthwhile addition to your list of places to visit near Coorg.
When we visited this place it was raining and in the rain we had a walk of 20 mins to reach the waterfalls. After reaching the waterfalls the water was so cool and we enjoyed a lot in the waterfalls. A small pond formed at the waterfalls so we were spending a lot of time at the waterfalls. It takes just 20 mins to walk to reach the waterfalls from the entry gate. The nater view looks so wonderful while walking to waterfalls. We almost spent more than 1hr of our time at the waterfalls.
Iruppu shri Rameshwara temple is dedicated to lord Shiva by Rama during his vanawasa. Right in the midst of brahmagiri ranges, cannot miss it when you visit Iruppu falls.
