One of the best place to explore considering during monsoon time. The view is really awesome. One can observe it from the bridge which is infront of the dams gate. One can also get the glimpse of side view as there is another spot there to get the view of dam. The road condition is good from Omkareshwar to dam but the condition is bad from Indore to Omkareshwar if someone comming from that side.
This dam is the tallest.Lovely view from the bridge.we went there when there is no stream of water... if you visit while there is a stream of water from the doors, it could be really wonderful. From the bridge less than 2 to 3 km is the dam, stay there for a while.
We visited while traveling to Omkareshwar, unexpectedly the road is superb from Ashta. Throughly enjoyed the road trip cause traveled through the woods till Punasa... during the rainy season (drizzling) if you go, can enjoy nature.
Back water from Narmada river,ghats,forest....no words...just forget about everything and enjoy.
After Knood, no shops available so if you have your own food, you can sit down between your travels and have fun.. Once you arrive in Punasa, you will find Dhaba.
The view is too good when all the gates of the dam are open, specially during the night when the tricolour (national flag) lights are turned on.
You could feel the shower of water falling from the dam on the bridge in front of it. And the same Narmada river goes from the Omkareshwar temple (one of the 12 jyotirlinga's).
Its a very beautiful place you should go towards back waters then you will find blue everywhere you will get lost in the nature and the atmosphere you can try and explore this place.
