Indira Gandhi hall, a hall of residence for undergraduate female students of Aligarh Muslim University was inaugurated in 1994. The hall accommodates female students of the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Under-graduate students of Women's college of Arts, Social Science, Commerce and Science streams. The principal administrator is the Provost who is responsible for the management of the hall supported by a team of wardens and office. Total capacity of the Hall: 701 Main Building: 528 Annexe Building : 173 Total strength of Non-resident Students: 833 The total strength of the office staff and employees: 52 Indira Gandhi hall provides standard residential facilities. The hall has great diversity among its residents who come from various states of India, neighboring and distant countries (Bangladesh, Thailand, Gulf, Yemen, Malaysia, Indonesia, Jordan). The hall inculcates independence, multi-culturalism, peaceful co-existence and healthy living. Extra- curricular, co-curricular activities are organized on a regular basis to build the personality of students and enhance their confidence. An effective communication channel exists between residents and hall management for maintaining standard living conditions, discipline, general management and all round development of the girls. Regular invited talks on health issues, career counselling sessions and other topic of relevance are organized from time to time. -Md farman

One of the latest halls built to accommodate the postgraduate girl students of the University. The total strength of the Hall is around 750 residents and 833 non-resident students. The Residents of the Hall belong to the Masters? Degrees of Arts, Social Science, Commerce and Science Faculties. Students of BCA, BFA and BUMS also reside in the hostel. Indira Gandhi Hall has residents from all over India - from North, South, East and West, representing various states in India. The residential life is very active. Indira Gandhi Hall has its Annexe also, where 177 students (out of the total strength) get accommodated. The Hall promotes a self dependent life style to the students. Extra- Curricular activities are organized to build the personality of the students and enhance their confidence. The food in the past year is given according to the Menu which is prepared by the provost and senior Food herself there is also a provision of cafeteria which has recently come up and caters to the requirement of fast food by the residents. Girls hostel for studying student in AMU. As per my daughter's feedback lawn and wing area are very green and clean.

INDIRA GANDHI HALL, a Hall of Residence exclusively for female students of Aligarh Muslim University, was inaugurated in 1995 by Sonia Gandhi. Before the start of 2019 girls pursuing postgraduate courses were living there but at the end of 2018 a decision was made by the authorities that from the start of very next year some of the girls from Abdullah Hall will be shifted to I G Hall. And this way this hall became residence of undergraduate girls. Indira Gandhi Hall is attached with Abdullah Hall, there is only a gate between these two halls which bifurcate the both. The rules in IG are as follows: Outing is only on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For Thursday and Friday the outing timing is from 1pm to 5:30 pm. Whereas for Sunday the timing is from 10am to 5:30 pm. Breakfast, lunch and dinners have their own particular time. You cannot go to Abdullah Hall after 7pm because the gate between both the halls is being closed down by sharp 7. You cannot be late from outing otherwise the warden will not leave you. You have to fill your entry everytime you go to Abdullah hall or women's college and also have to close the entry while coming back.

This is best hostel for Girls. There are lots of Room. It is near the Shakir Sir Classes Lal diggi Aligarh.
