Lovely display of local history and seized goods as well as general knowledge. Adequate items for a museum. Only too hot if the a/c is not on. Audio guide available at nominal amount. Some are replicas of the original. Open on sundays.
Just beside the Mandovi river, houses items caught by the Customs department and gives an insight into the various ways via which goods were smuggled. There's also a room on first floor dedicated to beautiful idols from different cultures over India and abroad. My favourite section of the museum was prolly the antique weaponry room and the illegal/banned wildlife items.
Great and wonderful place to visit who is interested in History and Heritage. Has displayed lot of customs seized arifacts and materials. Well maintained and preserved.
The only custom Museum in India. The Building itself is 400 years old. Nice place to visit to have understanding on how customs people work.
Well maintained museum. Everything is very nicely depicted. Staff is good.
Pretty cool museum actually. Shows the spectrum of things Customs is involved in including artifacts, ancient coins, Animal trafficking etc.
Details about caught in action items by custom departments across India. You would love the history of smuggled goods by road, air and sea.
Dharohar: The National Museum Housed in Panaji's famous Blue Building on the banks of River Mandovi, Dharohar is a two-storey building. During the period of Portuguese rule in Goa, it was known as Alfandega, and has been standing at this place for more than 400 years. Dharohar, a first-of-its-kind museum, showcases not only the artefacts seized by Indian Customs across the country but also depicts basic customs procedures for the knowledge of general public. Moreover, an e-catalog of the Museum contains high-resolution pictures of the various items displayed in the museum along with relevant information
