Indian Coffee House - Indian restaurant in Cherthala - Alappuzha, India

I am a great fan of Indian coffee house masala dosa & coffee. Yesterday as I was driving to kochi, I stopped at cherthala and wanted to taste my favorite MD. There are ample car parking on the road side, the service is quick. The toilets are not up to the standards but in an emergency it's an option. Yesterday's MD had less salt and I had to add extra salt to make it tasty. The vada was not good as the salt was less. Sambar & chutney was also not up to the usual standards. The coffee was superb. The staff are friendly and one get to buy some magazines and book too. The chicken cutlet was ok. The people who visit ICH are those who have tasted it early. Nowadays the standards are slowly sinking. I have a personal attachment to ICH as it was here that I made my first eat out alone. The management should take action to improve the standards.

Worst experience ever, not clean at all better to avoid... The chapathi and egg curry they served are below average The beef cutlet also tasted bad with some smoky smell

Food taste very bad poori and dosa so bad tea only good taste.

A reasonably priced restaurant conveniently located near the Indian Oil Petrol Bunk on the Alleppey Ernakulam Highway. Limited Parking available in front of the restaurant. Fast Service from a Standard Menu Indian Coffee House or ICH is part of the socio politocal history of Kerala. Its a co-operative society founded many decades ago. Famous for Masala Dosa, Ghee Roast Dosa, Puri, Veg and Meat Cutlets. Virtually the only eatery where beetroot makes its way into the masala and the cutlets. Love it or hate it, you cant ignore it! Biriyani is availabe as well. No meal is complete without a coffe for the adults and a Lime Juice for the kids. Rose Milk and Cold Coffe were nostalgic favourites but they may be discontinued now. If available still, its a must for someone high on remenescence else can pass. Sharja Shake is another local favourite that has been introduced into the cuisine.

Wayside restaurant beside NH which serves both Veg and Non veg food.It is bit difficult to notice the restaurant while you drive. Typical taste which Indian Coffe House series offers, you can see beetroot in every recipies. Best for having Vegetable Cutlets.If you go for Chappatis, you will get something similar to Papad and you will get tired of chewing.Even if it has a name Coffee house, coffee was not upto the mark. Restaurant ambience is not that good and calm. There is no wait and the prices are affordable. Parking slot is always busy.If you are opting parcel service, better to bring carry bags as they don't provide plastic carry bags now.

One of the minimum resturants which opens at early morning when you travell from kochi to Alappuzha side... Affordable rates for food and coffe... Coffe is as usual as from other Indian coffee houses... From here you can buy Indian Coffe powder at Rs. 45 per 100 gram.. A place where i found a special in menu :-BEEF OMLETTE... Havnt tried it so dont know much about it.. Enough vehicle parking area...nearby petrol pump... But usuall crowded..still good... Neatness and arrangemets not good...
