Food is very good. Quantity is also sufficient and worth it for the price. The environment is not up to the mark. Need some renovation. Bit old age type. But must try for everyone to visit the city. The special item is mutton, One can have it with Rice or with Rice thali.

A very popular name in ranchi maintaining its old world charm and serving good quality authentic bengali food for decades. Menu is limited and practical with Rohu Fish/ Mutton Gravy / Kidney Fry etc Portions are standard and service is extremely fast. The place is mostly cash only but they do accept cards. The entrance is not from the street side, but behind from back alley, so ask locals if you are unable to find it.

Dining date: 5th December 2021 I had fond experience of dining here a few times back in 2000 when I was in Ranchi for work. It was a hotel which used to be preferred by long-term boarders and well-known for its food. I affectionately recall the temporary Sunday lunch arrangement on the roof. On the weekdays the food was served in the permanent arrangement on the first floor. The food used to be finger-licking good! The mutton curry deserved a special mention. Visited it again last December during a work tour. The roof has now become a restaurant where travellers frequent. It has very basic seating arrangement with plastic tables and chairs. It is the best-known Bengali restaurant in town now! But the food was a big letdown this time! I took shukto for myself, along with Sorshe Rohu, mutton curry and rice for us. The shukto lacked flavour disappointingly, so did the mutton curry, which was runny (though the mutton was well-cooked). I was aware that the mutton curry was a celebrated dish here! The Sorshe Rohu lacked the mustard punch. The quality has gone down by several notches with rising popularity over time.

Food is delicious. Mutton plate full is so testy and reasonable price. Fish is also testy. Service is very good and helpful. I take my Lunch here today & enjoy my it. The owner is also very gentleman and with a smile. The hotel is very old one probably 1965. The first floor is renovated for dormetory accomodation.

The food was very delicious, especially mutton curry and Alu Posto. It is really enjoying to get authentic bengali food in outside Bengal. But the quantity of vegetable and dal they serve is more than enough to eat for one person. They should think to serve half portion of food for one person.

Mutton was below average. Pehli wali baat nahi rahi. It totally lost its delicious taste which made this hotel famous.Its only hype. Owner must focus for enhancing taste of mutton .
