Architecture wise good but the maintenance is not done by the authorities.
One of the prominent tourist destinations in Sundarbans. This wooden Bungalow is located in Gosaba, just a few minutes walk from Beckon Bungalow. Although there is nothing spectacular to see here, but you can come here, to learn about the rich history associated with this place. The Gosaba island of Sundarban, near Canning, a small township with a market. The Hamilton bungalow is situated near the market. Its a heritage building kept well maintained. Mr. Hamilton was a key founder of the Gosaba area.
We had such a wonderful experience! The gardens were well maintained.We look forward to spending more time there.the banglow is located,Gosaba Island, an otherwise remote location on the Bay of Bengal.Good place to shoot profile picture. Overall good place for one time visit.
This bunglow is not located within any boundary wall. However, it remains locked and is out of bound. One can see the bunglow from outside. There is no need to buy ticket etc. to visit this bunglow. It is a wooden stilted structure with a sloped roof. Some of the stilts have been infested by insects and are in dire need of treatment & rehabilitation, more so when the structure is located in a cyclone prone area. There is no information provided in the vicinity of the bunglow regarding the significance of the bunglow, when was it constructed etc. Those who are responsible for the upkeeping of the bunglow should look into this.
Govt. should take proper steps and should make this bungalow a small museum. Currently it's closed and there's nothing to see except the bungalow from a large distance. If you have some extra time, you may give it a visit.
If the authority take some adequate steps for the maintains... Then it will be a attractive visiting plot for the tourist.
Nothing to see here. It's just an old wooden house which was built for Daniel Hamilton who founded Gosaba, the first urban settlement in Sunderbans. If you can manage to go inside then there are some interesting things to see like the potraits of the hamiltons and their artifacts.
Nothing to see here, totally wasting the time visiting here. It's just a bungalow that is not even open so just go and get some clicks or better don't even go.
