Hutridurga Fort Top - Featured Reviews (121)
I took the Kunigal route (Bangalore -Mangalore highway) because it has a slightly longer stretch of highway that's neat and 4 lanes. There is a detour you need to take through village roads to reach the base of Hutridurga. You can park your vehicles at the base where you'll be charged some money depending on whether it's a car or a bike so safety isn't much of a concern here. One can make the climb to the top within 30-40 minutes. There are stairs carved into the stone for the most part that make the trek easy. Take plenty of water and some fruits for hydration. There are a couple of view points but the view from the top is surreal. Make sure you reach the top before 8 am to have a pleasant experience. As usual, don't litter!
A perfect weekend getaway spot that is not more than 75kms from the Bangalore City (1 hr 15 mins drive). Limited Paid Parking is available at the start of the trek (50 rs). Best time to visit this Trek is during the monsoon/ winter season (July to December). I'd suggest to begin the Trek from the base point by 5:00 to 5:30 am so that you get to see a beautiful sunrise. It is a beginner level trek and would take approx. 45 mins to reach the top. There are various view points you could find by exploring after you get to the top but try not to get lost. Overall it's calm and relaxing.
A hill treck with many viewpoints, There are many hill hiking places around bengaluru, this one is different, hill covered by fort. you can enjoy biking plus trekking. first peak you will see shiva temple, there many other view point's further. try covering things early in the morning for best views. Good for groups. I could see very less plastic here our people are changing. I hope people won't litter around.
An easy trek for beginners. The steps are carved out of the stone for East access. The difficulty level is easy and can be reached to the top for beginners in 40 minutes max.The view from top is good with cold Breeze of air and a great view of the surrounding villages. There is a vehicle parking spot before the traek near a temple which is chargeable and water can be filled from there itself.
Small and easy trek near Bangalore. Visit in the rainy and winter season. Small Fee for the vehicle parking. No entrance fee.
Calm and Quite place. Moderate trekking. Few shops at basement to buy some confectionery and coconut water.
Must visit a small trek near bangalore which can be done in a few hours. Try visiting in the rainy season, but go for sunrise trek so you can witness fog , cold weather with sun all at once experience is special. No entrance fee , but there's a small fee for the vehicle parking.
One the nearest place around Bangalore for good short trekking experience after parking place. 30 to 40 minutes of time required to reach top of the mountain along with few minutes of rest in btw as the climb is steep and new stairs are under construction at few stretches. Remains of the fort, many places used in the past are not easily visible or identifiable due to grass or trees coverage around it but a guide or local guy can help explore it properly.
