I'd rate this trek as an easy one. The entire trek distance is 3.7Km. it takes 1 hour on an average to reach to the top. There is a temple entire where people can meditate and rest. There are no food options during climb. There is a local food vendor at base of the hill who serves packaged snacks, fresh buttermilk, cucumber, mangoes(seasonal). It's good to bring kids and teenagers and I saw a large group of 15 elderly people also make it to the top of peak.

A good trek for a beginner. As of now, it's not much polluted with plastic or other trash. Hope the trekkers do maintain the sanctity of the hill and the surroundings. The surrounding places are not much commercialised. The place looks green and has a beautiful view from the top. Happy trekking.

It is an amazing Trek experience that one can do near Bangalore. It would take about an hour to the top if you climb slowly and soak in the atmosphere and the views. There is a temple on the top but there are monkeys you need to be careful of. There are steps etched into the rock and there are new steps being carved. Overall a thoroughly wonderful experience. There is a small parking area in the village and they charge Rs.50 for car parking. Kindly don't destroy the beauty of the place by littering. We saw a group of guys taking alcohol. Kindly avoid such things as there is a temple on top. Maintain sanctity.

One of the best places to trek. Took us an hour and a half to 2 hours trek to the top. There were wondeful view points at each stage of the trek and a nice time to spend a day. Its advisable to start early and it would be too hot once the sun is up. At most places stone steps were available with railings for some part of the trek. There is a small shop situated at a short distance or climbing stairs for fifteen minutes from the start point of trek. Take sufficient amount of water as it would be required and please don't dispose trash at top and maintain the premise clean. Only one trail is the hardest, which is the top most point, where there would be space for only one person to climb, at a certain point only one person can asscend or desscend and must be very careful and its not advisable for elders or with health condition to try this asscend, as one needs to crouch into a dark passage and after some distance needs to pull up into the rock to go onto the top.

Nice clean quiet place to enjoy nature and a great workout climbing the hill. Neatly laid out steps cut out from rocks. Great views from the hill top.

Awesome awesome place.... Full of greenery. Very quiet best for weekend outings. Dogs are allowed and u cn easily offleash them most of the time. This is not yet under Karnataka govt so no tickets or entry fee. Private Parking is there so u have to pay to that uncle 50 rs for car parking

This fortified hill is about 65 km from Bangalore rising to 3708 feet above the sea level. There are eight gateways with several other outer gates as well, from the foot to the summit of the Hutridurga fort. On the summit or the Sankarakumbhi stands the Sankareshwara temple overlooking the Dodda Done or the 'big spring'. Built by Kempagowda in the 16th century, Hutridurga fort, once seven tiered, was the military bastion of Tipu Sultan against the British. Hutridurga is one of the popular treks near Bangalore. The trek, which is said to be easy, begins from Santhepet Village and passes through the fort. It does not end with the Sankareshwara temple on the summit, but leads on to a cave and later to an open grassland and a rock from where you can have stunning views of the sunrise. Hutridurga is also called as Uttari betta is about 70-80 kms from Bengaluru, depending on which route you take. You can either take kunigal Road or go via Magadi. Not recommend in rainy season. The best time to trek is morning before 8 AM, as you can enjoy the breeze and magical looking mist all around you. When it's covered with mist, the place looks surreal. Nice, easy hiking for all family members. There is a temple on the hill top. Historically, this fort belonged to the ruler Kempe Gowda as per the locals. I am not a historian, so I can not vouch on this.
