Hunjar House Hotel - Guest house in Matheran - Raigad, India

Would definitely recommend this place for travellers. The staff was very cooperative and friendly and helpful. The place is situated close to the station and is well maintained.

Guys please don't visit this hotel. Worst ever experience I ever had. Beware of Shakil Sheikh his arrogance level is beyond limit. We had to put his complaint to police station because of his behavior. He literally threw our luggage out of the hotel just because we asked is there white bedsheet available? Completely spoiled our holiday. Worst experience.

Worst experience with this hotel. Shakil Shaikh is very arrogant person. We just asked few questions about the hotel he asked us to leave his hotel with our luggage saying you dont have rights to raise questions. Don't visit this hotel. It will spoil your holiday we had to do police complaint for his unruly and sarcastic behavior. Next time you find this person misbehaving just call up the police

Location is good but in-house kitchen is not there. Room was clean and spacious, bedsheets, towel were clean. However no scenic view from hotel. Best part is it's near to market area and matheran railway station.

Excellent Service. Near market. Good view from front rooms. Most important is they allow only families, no party groups and no couples. Only one negative is charges are bit expensive.

its just next to station. easily accessible. the staff are all good people. i didnt like the tea so he made me another one without hesitation and didnt charge for it too. the market starts in a 2 min walk from the hotel. great place since its quite since its away from the market but its also not that far away that we fell market is a ling way to go.will recommend and come again

Recently visited Matheran with family and we stayed at Hunjar House. The rooms are good sized, comfortable for a family, with clean washroom. They also provide room service, but I did not opt for the same. The location of the is bang on mail road near Matheran railway station. The fare is reasonable too. All in all a good place to stay with a nuclear as well as big group.

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time at matheran! The staff was extremely friendly & very flexible (appreciate this!) and the home made breakfast deserves a special appreciation with thanks. We had three great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. The owner is such a warm personality and highly motivated person (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed staying the three of us. About the place, scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the owner and staff who does a great job here. A true sample of excellent hospitality!
