Hulivana Resort - Resort hotel in Kesaganahalli - Hassan, India

It's an amazing experience for those who look for an escapade from their routine 9-5 schedules. It's indeed a jungle resort where you get to spend your time with picturesque views around, music of streams, kind crew of resort, adventurous terrain, animals around and mouth watering food. I certainly rate them 4 for the service and polite attitude of staff at the resort. However cutting off 1 star for two main reasons: 1. It came to us as a shocker after reaching the location that the power supply is only for limited time, from 6:30 to 10:30 pm. 2. Dining area is quite far off from villas. And we have to reach there by walk to and fro. This seemed pretty unsafe to walk around especially during night with no electricity. The crew was courteous enough to keep the electricity on till morning as they realised it could be troublesome to manage kids without electricity. Overall, it's totally recommended place to go with your group of friends. Not highly recommended for families with elders and kids.

We had amazing experience at Hulivana, rooms could have been designed little better. hospitality and food was so good. Had tough time with leaches surrounded by the properly. Don't go for massage, it is not up to the mark.

It is indeed a jungle stay rather than a resort..the stay was great and so is the hospitality..the staff there are very friendly. It was an all rounder package with all the amenities inside the jungle. Felt like a new experience after all the experiences we had earlier.

Wonderful place to be. Wonderful experience. No hype no bluff. If you want to be close to nature, this is the place. This is my second visit after a gap of 7 years. It is still exciting even now. Had been there with friends before and took my family this time. The treks is something you should never miss. Warm hospitality and tasty food. Overall a very exciting experience. Hulivana is isolated inside the jungle and it's far from civilization. This is the reason we chose this unique place and it was an experience of a life time. Though it is not a luxury resort , but even in such a remote location they provided us a comfortable stay. The room , bathroom and bedsheets were clean and the food served were all konkan dishes. They also prepared slender bamboo shoots and raw jackfruit sabji found in the forest. The location is very very breathtaking and full marks to the cook for the tasty dishes Note : Those who are scared of leeches ( I am still ) do not go for the shola walk if it rains heavily .

Hulivana is my fav place for trekking & birdwatching. This is my third visit and will be coming back again. We woke up to the Malabar Thrush' s whistling tunes. We also spotted Malabar hornbills, Kestrel & Rufus woodpeckers. The management restricts and does not admit big groups or crowds so we had the entire place for ourselves. The night sky is spectacular for stargazing as there are no lights for miles. My only grouse was the renovation work this time ,as the noise at times was unnerving but understood it was necessary before the monsoon season commenced.

First thing is on the route - Jeep ride is too hard and will get full body ache, not maintained properly and fully worn tyres. Risky 30mins drive with no seat belts and you have to hold your luggage bags rather holding yourself in jeep. Rooms - not clean and no power provided during summer Feb - April and wasn't communicated before to us, we got power for 4hrs during entire 1 day stay and was pathetic. With this to add, Rats came inside rooms to eat any items which we had some snacks for emergency ! Whole night couldn't sleep! Rooms are not sealed and has no locks, you have to keep all your important belongings in room unlocked and trek hours!

What an amazing place to be!!! I was in shock when I visited that place. It was a surprise visit and had not seen any pics of this place. The location is very secluded. The entire place is entwined with nature as they have described. We were able to trek 2 trails, take bath in the stream in front of the room. They also generate their own electricity The food was really good with a touch of traditional cooking style. I would love to visit again. Our host was an amazing person too.
