A nice memorial built in memory of Huen Tsang, a great Chinese traveller. Its constructed in a huge area with a magnificent sculpture of Huen Tsang. There is an entry fee of Rs.10 for Indian and Rs.200 for foreigners. In all a nice place to spend some time. It is a joint Indo-China undertaking to honour the famous traveler. Visiting hours are 8 am to 5 pm.
First thing come in mind is peace, meditation and open atmosphere. It's for spends some peacefully time here. I love this place because of its organisation, clean and staff behaviour. If anyone wants to meet stranger or held meeting with someone I suggest it's good place.
The temple is dedicated to a well known Chinese explore and traveller Huin Shuein who visited almost all over India and mentioned travellage in book. His works spread focuse on that time and help to know more about that time world. It is said that he was inspired by Bodhaism and studied here in the university and spent times in ancient Nalanda University.
Xuan Zang memorial hall is closeby to the partially excavated site of the ancient Nalanda University Xuan Zang was a Buddhist monk who travelled from China to India in the 7th Century along the famous Silk Road. He studied for 5 years at the Nalanda University established in the 5 the century. He eventually returned home with Buddhist scriptures & later translated into Chinese. His epic trip is immortalised in the 16th century Chinese novel, Journey to the West, one of China's classic pieces of literature. The story was then turned into a TV show, Monkey in 1970 In 1957, China sent the relics of the religious scholar to be displayed at the memorial hall that the two countries were building. As India & China fought a brief war in 1962, their relations soured for decades & the memorial could not be completed But later in 2007, the restored memorial was finally opened.
