Houseboat Switzerland - Hotel in Srinagar - Srinagar, India

First of all just keep in mind it's not an any individual boathouse instead it's a group of many so, there is no fixed place where you'll be allocated a room. The owner of this group houseboats is very arrogant. He won't listen you and try to impose something somewhere on the name of a boathouse. The shikara ride they'll call for you will be min 300-400 costly than the usual one. I would suggest exploring the things in detail before heading over.

The staff is friendly and helpful but that's where the positives end. We booked a room with a double bed and one single bed but got just the double bed. In the middle of our stay we were made to change rooms which was not even in the same houseboat. The bathrooms and facilities were below subpar. Be careful of speaking to them with regards to activities around the city or shikara rides, they as well as their connections will rip you off.

I loved my stay here. The room was so clean and well maintained. Hashim Bhai was the manager here. There was smooth checkin and checkout process. We came a little early than estimated checkin. But Hashim Bhai allowed us to freshen up. His hospitality made our stay more happy. Anything we needed was provided. This was ultimate budget house boat . I wil not forget Hashim Bhai in my life because of the hospitality.

Great view of Dal lake but inside the houseboat it wasn't great. No room heater or AC. When we complained that one bathroom toilet flush ain't working, the owner readily said he'll refund entire money back and we can search for another house in the chill night. Breakfast was just tea and w/ jam. Good boat service from house to shore. Overall avg.

It's okay. These houseboats are standstill unlike the ones in Alleppey that take you around the lake. The food is just mediocre. We stayed in one of the boats of Amina group

I stayed here with my friends in December and it was a wonderful experience altogether, the Houseboat has a great interior which takes you back in time , with exquisite wood working and pleasant ambience, it was overall a great experience. Though I would have expected a better caretaker but Hashim bhai(the owner) made up for the shortcomings with his hospitality.

As an experience Staying in a Houseboat is a must-have. Especially the leisurely Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Time stood still and we were able to relax

Location is prime but it's not at all like the pictures. The rooms and washroom are horrible. Had to pay more to get a better room even when I have booked delux room. And even then I wouldn't suggest staying here at all, no towels, no water, not even a hand wash in the washroom . Horrible experience.
