Hotel Villa Everest - Hotel in Darjeeling - Darjeeling, India

We stayed here from the 15th of November till the 19th.A lovely little hotel with an old world charm.It is well placed in a fairly quiet area .Wooden floors,comfortable rooms,clean washrooms,a warm and inviting dining space and a breathtaking view of the Kanchanjunga! The food was good and the service excellent! Thank you, Villa Everest!

Loved it! The wooden interiors of this property is so cool. Everything about this hotel is lovely. The well mannered, properly groomed staff. Location is also on point with a great view and walking distance from Mall road. Highly recommended. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it throughout.

Villa Everest was built in 1904 and is located at 1 A.J.C. Bose Road, Darjeeling, which was then known as Auckland Road during the British Raj. The property belonged to the former mayor of Kolkata, Shri Kamal Kumar Basu, who sold the property to us in the year 2007. This building has been carefully reinforced and the basic layout of the building has been retained. We have added one floor to the structure that has the Attic Rooms. This establishment is a 11 room family run hotel that offers a comfortable stay. To get in touch with the latest all rooms are fitted with LCD TVs with cable connection and also have Free Wi-Fi connectivity in all rooms.So while on vacation at Darjeeling, Villa Everest offers rooms that are comfortable, decent and well equipped with views of the Singalila Range and of Mt. Kanchendzonga from every room.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The service was impeccable, the room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. The location was convenient, and I appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of my stay.

Very good hotel.This is my 2nd visit to this hotel. Big rooms , very clean good service. Toilet is also very clean and good. Staffs are very helpful and cordial. View from the room is also good. Only negative point is that the hotel is 15 to 20 minutes walking distance from the Mal. Breakfast is also very good. Other food quality is also great.

I stayed here because of all the good reviews, but I think they're very misleading. The room is large but everything feels very old and cheap (in a bad way, not a "rustic" way) and it's very cold. There's no heating/AC/fan and the windows don't close properly (and are single glaze) so I think room temperature will be a problem year round. Having to turn the water heater on 20 mins before having a shower was annoying. The TV remote and hair dryer didn't work, the kettle was full of milky tea (eww). I got very frustrated interacting with the staff at reception. They organised an airport transfer, a taxi to Kuresong and laundry for me, but the price was often weird and the staff couldn't explain why. E.g. a taxi to Kuresong was the same price as my taxi from the airport, despite being half the distance. And the taxi back was 1000 rupees extra just because I wanted to stop at the tea room for half an hour. The laundry was the worst, it came back a day late and cost an outrageous PS18! It was a fairly small bag.

Staffs are way good and they are very polite. Easy to stay and have a blissful night with very nice view from Galaxy Delux room. I used to prefer breakfast and dinner outside nearby Chawarasta @Hotel Lunar Thanks Villa Everest Team for comfortable stay. We wish you all the best

It's truly a hidden gem of a place. It is 10-15 mins smooth walking distance from the Mall Road. It has partial view of Mount Kanchanjunga due to pine tree obstruction. The rooms are spacious clean and hygienic. Service is quite prompt. Food is good. Our stay there was quite pleasant. It's quite & calm from the maddening crowd. Only problem is lack of enough parking space.
