Hotel Vasantha Bhavan - Vegetarian restaurant in Rameswaram - Ramanathapuram, India

The hotel seems nice from the outside. But the plates given were dirty, even the Banana leaf given was dirty. Food was average. When we took Sauf and Sugar, the sugar had small plastic balls in it !!! I spit it outside. Avoid having food there.

There is no option to give less than one star. Highly unhygienic, pathetic taste, unruly staff, unruly owner also. Staff cleans the tables with left over water from the glasses left by earlier customer. Very very poor service, taste.

We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner. All time we tried only South Indian food and good. This restaurant is better than all other restaurants. We can't expect more than this , since it's a pilgrimage centre. Service and cleanliness can be improved and to be addressed by the management

Among the better options we tried. Far from what I would like to frequent, but a recommended option if you are in this temple town and looking for a dining option near east entrance. Best dishes (worthy of mentioning): sambar and chutney was decent, which made the overall meal a lot more palatable. The pongal and vada were great. Dishes you can skip - kuruma ( had no salt), coffee (you expect a filter coffee at south Indian restaurants, this wasn't), onion uthappam.

Good food, meal option was very nice

Food is average only, but affordable also. Open from 7 AM to 9.30 PM. Right infront of the east gate of Rameshwaram temple. Have bathroom facility also compared to other restaurants nearby. Also there is a large verandah for sitting.

Very close to temple east tower. Food is average. Staff is good. Easily noticable from the road. All vegetarian food and North Indian food is available. Cash only payment system. There is also a AC room for family. Clean place. Opening time 6AM in the morning and closing time is 9:30PM.
