Hotel Valentino - Hotel in Darjeeling - Darjeeling, India

My stay at the Valentino in Darjeeling was a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, the location was fantastic, with stunning mountain views. However, several issues left us feeling rather disappointed. First and foremost, we encountered a water shortage in many of our rooms. Not having access to water for basic needs can be quite frustrating, especially in a group. Furthermore, the rooms that didn't face the mountains were uncomfortably damp and in need of maintenance. One unfortunate incident occurred when a member of my group had their mobile phone stolen while we were at the hotel. The security measures seemed lacking, and a broken window known to the staff was left unfixed, possibly contributing to the theft. The service, while not terrible, didn't quite meet our expectations. I understand that this isn't a luxury hotel, but even basic service can make a big difference in guest satisfaction. In summary, Valentino has a fantastic location, but issues like the water shortage, room conditions, security, and service left a lot to be desired. I hope they address these concerns to make future guests' experiences more enjoyable.

I along with my almost 96 team members checked in this hotel on 29th September, 2023 and on 30th September, 2023 in between 11.45 p.m and 4 a.m my mobile phone was stolen from the room 202. The wooden window was not not in good condition, the room service is horrible. The rooms have very poor hygiene. The rugs of the room was sticky and foul smell was coming. The bed sheet, blanket cover etc seems to have never washed. There was no water supply. The manager didn't even take any action on the lost of the phone. Moreover he started blaming us only. The CCTV was lying on the floor. All the rooms are damp.

Never book this hotel. Very bad hotel. To reach this hotel one has to climb a very steep slope of about 75deg sharp angle and no cab service as it is one way, it is very difficult for disabled and old persons so stay away. Geysers not working. Water shortage, frequent power cut and no person to give room service. Moreover the locality is not safe as few residents points torch on windows at midnight.

It's a horrible stay in this hotel.the rooms were opened before we entered.Damp room,damp carpet,untidy carpet, stinking toilet without liquid handwash, geyser was not working properly, don't stay in Room no 202,the window is broken and they stole my friend's mobile.Reception is horrible,food is not digestable ,not at all a healthy stay for children specially as it's totally damp.They Stop supplying water whenever they want,it was a disgusting stay over there,stop visiting it.

I can't grade this hotel as best in Darjeeling. They are old and may be magnificent at their Inception. But now it's not worthy as much as they charge. Staffs are very humble, polite, sweet and SLOW. They serve excellent foods here but a little late. You have to specify your order in details unless you may receive something different from usual. Their plumbing works are below average and they blame the weather of Darjeeling for this lack. Room service is decent enough and safe. Their only problem is the accessibility. You have to climb at least 50+ stairs to reach from the mall road, beside Ramada hotel, to here. Or you can take a 1km slope walk to reach. With luggage it's pretty difficult to execute and for older people this hotel is not recommended. Hill side rooms have excellent view from the window. Heater is an issue here. During this time December January when the temperature runs in near to negative this hotel rooms may feel like a curse.

Rooms are so small not hygienic , staff is less very poor service , drinking water supply is not good , there is no wash basin in the restraunt area ancd geasers are not working we are going to a site seeing without bath , not enough options for breakfast

Comfortable rooms, Kettle available for hot water. Washrooms are clean. Gyeser available. Little problem with water supply though in few rooms. We got a change and post that it was great. Breakfast is awesome. Service is extremely good.
