Hotel Tranquil Retreat - Hotel in Sonamarg, Forest Block - Ganderbal, India

We visited this hotel restaurant today and had group lunch , food ( Kasmiri Pulav , Kashmiri Chicken , Roti , Lemon tea with honey & curd rice ) and hospitality was great . Sangeetha and Wassim serve us with their pleasant faces that make a big difference which is rare in most of Kashmir Hotels. After lunch Sangeetha given elaborate explanation about the place and attractions around to our mam ( due to age our mam could not visit most of attractions )

We were here only for dining at their restaurant on the recommendation of our driver-cum-tour guide. The location has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel reception and lobby area is neat and well maintained. The men's restroom is fairly large but it was not kept clean - smelled of urine - and the liquid soap dispenser was empty. The dining area is small and cosy. We ordered two gravy dishes (one veg and one non-veg), a bowl of rice and rotis. The veg gravy - kashmiri aloo - was tasty. For non-veg, I had asked for boneless chicken gravy but since they were out of stock, they offered to make it with bone-in chicken. The gravy was creamy and good but the chicken was stale and very chewy. I showed it to the waiter but he did nothing about it.

Paid more than 9k and was expecting good food, good room and a nice staff. Reality is :- 1. Booked a room with dinner - literally a SCREW in Arhar Dal. The good part was I was having dinner in their buffet area and not in the room otherwise they could have said that you must have added it. Because. The question was "were you having dinner in the room or buffet area". When I show the same to the guy in the buffet area he tried to take that away instantly so that we couldn't click a photo. NO SORRY NO APOLOGIZES!!!! 2. Talking about the condition of the room :- The water outlet in the bath area was not working. Called the hotel guy and during my stay there were fixing it. Horrible service!!!! 3. Talking about the staff :- This one is especially for the guy standing outside the buffet area during the dinner hours, his attitude is as if he is doing some kind of favour on us if we choose to stay at Tranquil. The same guy who tried to take the screw back before we could click a picture. Always busy on his phone during the working hours as well!! NOT AT ALL A PROPERTY I WILL CHOOSE AGAIN TO STAY!! AND NOT RECOMMENDED ALSO!!!!

It has a warm and cozy restaurant that you can dine in after your journey up Sonamerg. Service was perfect and food was hot which makes it more cozy.

I have stayed for 10 days along with my team ... felt heart warming amazing stay Everything was made easy and helpful for us by Mr Gowhar [manager and all his team members]. All of the hotel staff was very generous and very professional to theory work ... I Wil surely recommend this property to my friends and family surely Thanks to make our stay so comfortable and wonderful stay Thank you .

I highly recommend this property to my all guests ,whenever I and my unit visit sonmarg tranqueil is always of first priority... I never go for option as it's very old property with amazing location. Staff is hard working ,kitchen is open one can check the cleaness there r diffrent restaurants/dinning halls nonveg as well as veg . 5 star to tranqueil

Very good location. Cooperative staff. Tasty food. I all value for money hotel. We were allowed to occupy their reception even after the check out for a long time since highway to Kargil was closed due to bad weather

Was delighted with the delicious food that we always wanted to try and moreover got the best service from ms sangeetha and Mr Wasim.
