This hotel has bed bugs. We stayed for one night to catch the Toy Train but bed bugs found in the room. We were moved room and found no live bugs in the new one, but did see a dead bug in there. Be aware.
Hotel the Lotus is located very near to Kalka railway station its about 350 meters from the railway Station. Room have all the basic amenities like Hotel water, Ac , Lcd and kettle etc room and bathroom are properly clean. we stay only for transit to catch early morning train and we get auto very easily in the morning and main thing is staff and owner of the hotel. They are very polite and friendly. Owner arrange a taxi for shimla and Manali for my family. We love to stay again.
For one day halt nearby railway station, this hotel is v good. Will not get much more luxury but overall staying for short period it is worthy. For family staying it is safe but please remember it is not good for old age person as high level staircase required to be use for reaching to rooms.

This is more of a lodge than a hotel. Room is clean but not well maintained. Bathroom lock wasn't working properly. Toilet did not have any hand shower jet . No toiletries were provided . Food is served from the nearby restaurant and even the menu card in the room is of that restaurant. You will have to take a narrow steep plight of stairs to reach the rooms . I stayed with my family here for 5 hours before catching a midnight train . Its only advantage is that it is very near to Kalka Railway Station . To sum up its only somewhat better compared to railway retiring rooms but no where near a deluxe room of a good hotel .
I have stayed there for two days. Caretaker and receptionist were forcing me to pay money before checkout and misbehaved with me. Will not recommend this for couple also dirty washroom.
Hotel is near to the railway station . Staff was very polite and room and bathroom are properly clean i just stay for one night with my family just want to catch toy train in the morning we just walk from the hotel to railway station . Really enjoy the stay .

It's one of those pathetic hotel those who are not bothered about there guest. Only thing they care is money. Pay the money the dont even bother to provide a soap for the washroom. Dirty room. No towel no bucket. Absolute waste of money. Only thing
The room for 1st floor with zigzag puzzled way with high step risers and extremely narrow stair passage. Room was spacious but untidy along with 24Hrs hot water supply in bathroom. Acceptable to stay for one night.
