Hotel Thangavilas Inn - Hotel in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur, India

Great location in the town. Away from very crowded places such as market. At the same time, it's not very far from market. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Rooms are very spacious. The property itself is very spacious and not congested unlike many new age inns. The restaurant is pure veg and is great. Probably one of the best in town. Nice staff there too.

Rooms are pretty spacious & pretty good. Bathroom floors can be little bit more cleaner . The staff are very helpful if you need anything in emergency. There is a veggie/fruit shop right next door and there is also an ATM nearby.

This hotel is located on main road so commuting to this place not a hassle. The staffs are very kind and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and parking lot is also spacious. There is veg restaurant in the same building and taste of the food is great you can definitely give it a try. I would definitely stay here when I come to Kumbakonam.

We stayed at Hotel Thanga Vilas for 3 days. Let me start with all the positives : a. The check-in time is 24 hours and no 12 to 12 system. It was a blessing. When I dialed the hotel from Chennai, the lady was very receptive towards the booking and NO ADVANCE was also charged. Way to go!! b. They have a massive car parking space, not being very far off from the main city this is certainly a huge relief for the people who travel by car. c. They have a restaurant, of a decent brand, inside the premises. The restaurant was very decent, neat, and helpful with good availability of South Indian food. d. The rooms are very spacious and you get 24-hour hot water. The rooms were very well maintained and the toilets were wonderfully neat. e. The charges are not very high and also not very low, it was moderate. However, they accept all means of payment including Credit Cards (Which is uncommon down south). Let me get into the points for improvement: a. They dont have complementary breakfast. For the rent they charge complementary bf can be offered, atleast they could have it as a choice. b. The on-campus restaurant opens only by 7 AM, so there are no coffee or Tea available until then. Kumbakonam is a place, generally, toured for pilgrimage visits and the very own reason of the travel demand early raise and a beverage in the morning is a must for many. They can arrange at least an inhouse coffee bay. They can even outsource it to some outside vendors. c. The Room service people are not very helpful. They dont attend to the room calls on time. Think there are very few for the number of rooms they have. They may need to recruit a few more. d. The beds and pillows are not very comfortable. The cots are easily draggable and it was made of with some sofa like materials and not wood. some people would tend to get head aches sleeping in such couches. Beyond these we enjoyed staying at Thanga Vilas. Thank you

Bedrooms were spacious. Washroom was dirty. Couldn't flush the toilet. Worst customer service. Room smelled bad when we first came in. A lot of mosquitoes in the room. Facilities were in bad condition.

Very decent hotel. Extra beds given and arranged for children. Service is good.

Located at Nal road junction at the entry point of Kumbakonam , surrounded by eateries and shops rooms are spacious but the maintenance has to be improved
