Booked via make my trip. I got the room in the adjacent ancient building not the one advertised on the site or Google. The room was very old and had a foul smell. The chair was dirty, and the dust bin kept in the room. Mosquito nets badly need maintenance. The room I got was not a beach view one as advertised in make my trip. No wifi or telephone. At night there was a powercut and the staff were not even aware. I had to walk down to inform them. They switched on a generator that was let very close to the room. It was very noisy. Positives are that the beach is close by and it is affordable
I felt like these properties are built and now they do 0 maintenance and just try to keep them as much clean as possible. But if you look out, you'll find webs, mosquito non functional tv etc. I wasn't expecting much and same I got. Just wanted stay and I got. No other expectations you can have. Staff is friendly. Recommended if you're low in budget. No issues majorly.
Finding it in Google maps is difficult. Better directly park at the Kovalam parking area and reach the hotel. Don't follow the Google map's route. Caretaker was very helpful, rooms are fine.

The service was okay! There were no person at the counter when we checked out. When called them they said leave the keys on the door and it's okay to leave. At the time of check-in they provided us with a bottle of water and the person in charge was of good behavior The main this is that is budget room it's said that it's having a beach view.. and from the room you can't even see a thing.. and also from the balcony like thing the beach is hardly visible only.. so don't fall for that! Rooms were clean but the floors were little bit sticky.. As it is on the beach side there won't be a parking facility. you have to park the vehicle at the pay & park beach parking facility.. OVER ALL FOR A NIGHT TO SPEND, the room is of good deal! comparing with the nearby hotels! As the name suggest "budget" room. so expect everthing in a budget manner.
The best thing about this hotel is its very close to the sea, just 10 steps away. The host and service is really good. Parking is not available and hotel is approachable only by walk, parking is available 10mins away. Hotel is a lill old and dont expect much infrastructure. We did not stayed in hotel much anyways, we were in beach most of the time. Overall it was awesome
The position is very good,close to sea beach. All the staff's are very good in behavior. Room is super spacious with a refrigerator. Toilet is Very clean. Mr. Suresh Piter is very nice person. I want to stay in this hotel again.
Rooms were avarage Service ok All hotel at light house beach were just 2-5 minutes walkable distance to go on beach. But main problem is how to go on hotel. The taxi was dropped you at light house stand and hotels were start one by one from there If you select anyone from 1st to 10 than no problem to check in easily. After that you require more walk to reach your hotel. Hotel Sumangali one of them. So choose your hotel near to taxi drop you . Hotel Sumangali is ok for one night stay. Nice hotel. Close to the beach. Rooms clean and spacious. Manager is a very calm and soft spoken guy. He is helpful in nature. The housekeeping guy is ever smiling. He helped us with our luggage early morning at 6 am.
All hotels in Kovalam are beach facing and same to this one as well. Got a decent deal by directly contact with the owner. Adjecent restaurant has best food service. Although room candittion can be better but who cares when beach is near.

Real good gym. If in the area for a long amount of time there are super cheap personal training sessions available. A day pass was 250 rupees, the gym was well equipped with free water.
