Hotel Sonar Bangla Mayapur - Resort hotel in Bahadurpur - Nadia, India

I loved the overall experience. They have beautiful rooms and the pool is massive. People who want love to go out randomly and enjoy staycations, this place is ideal for you. The food was amazing and the polite behaviour of the staff is commendable.

This is an absolutely ridiculous hotel, without any exaggeration. Dirty swimming pool, cold food and disgraceful service. They have just built a nice looking property, but the staff are thugs.. The GM himself welcomed us at the reception saying, " hello sir, if anything is broken, they would need to be paid in full". It sounded strange as a welcome message but things got clearer later. They were adding missing glasses, broken locks and what not to our invoice without our knowledge. 15 staff ganged up to force their arguments on me. Every single point turned out to be baseless and the thugs who were accusing us, left without any word . When I questioned them and asked them to call the police, they quickly changed their rhetoric. They have no camera security, so basically anything that happens anywhere on their property, they are blaming the guests. Never seen such a shameless top management running a property like this.

Mainly the service and the restaurant were pathetic. The housekeeping staff are really nice. But few front office staff, the manager as well as GM of hotel. restaurant and those staff working for the front office and restaurant was the worst among all the hsb property I have visited. The way from the highway to the hotel was not at all maintained road and any one will miss the path at night and will be scared while reaching the hotel after sunset. No light nothing was there in the way. Food taste woriest.do not vist I recommended.

On asking about the water they mentioned that the RO water was complimentary. How come filter water is complimentary? Now they may say the pleasant air will be complimentary which is coming from a nearby big water body. On food delivery to the room, they will provide the food at any order. For us the brinjal fry reached at the end when we were done with all our food ordered. Food quality was good except the mutton which they served on the last day of our stay. But the service was really poor, unsatisfactory and I am not willing to go again in this property.

Pros - The rooms are nice and spacious. Swimming pool is pretty big. The property is beautiful and quite scenic, especially the reception area. Nice game room and gym. Cons- The behaviour of the guy at the reception is very bad. He needs to change his attitude. Do not expect any kind of help from him as he does not know the meaning of hospitality. However, the behaviour of other staffs was good. Wifi connectivity is poor. The game room, pool etc. closes at 8 pm. Also the property at night is vey low lit. Its extremely dark. So one cannot sit outside or roam around. You need torchlight for the same.

The AC was not working in the room and property didn't bother to attend to the same despite repeated complaints. Fridge was not working and again no heed was paid to the same. Breakfast is like below average and it seems they are doing a favor to you by serving the same. The property is new hence it nice, but the management is horrible and rude people all around. Right from booking to check out it's a horrible experience.

Sonar Bangla (chain of hotels)-the pride of Bengal. We have been to many properties of Sonar Banglas previously so we had booked Sonar Bangle Mayapur with the same thought but to our utter dismay, it has very poor service and management. The check-in and check-out process here is not at all smooth and very disappointing, it took us more than an hour to check in and further more time to check out. Food service or even a cup of tea to the room will also take more than 90mins. There is no coordination and communication among the hotel staff, the blame game is played well here, with no service and disappointment to the customers. I would not recommend anyone to come here and spoil their vacation mood!

Good property, but poor service back up. Power tripped off number of times. Food was served after one and half hours of order during dinner. During breakfast also, it was quite chaotic... too many guests in comparison to space available in the restaurant
