Hotel Shakti Continental - Hotel in Angul - Anugul, India

Stayed for the second time here and I was very disappointed this time. Issues: -The room AC was not very effective. - For buffet dinner, they served chkn pakoda and chkn chilli and to my utmost surprise, chkn chilli was actually pakoda dipped in chilli sauce. I have never seen something like this before !! The management should actually take note of this !! - Buffet breakfast was equally very disappointing. I felt the hotel is not equipped with handling sold out situations! Great property with lots of scope for improvement.

Staff are not well trained and food quality is worse than street foods. You can find better food quality in nearer restaurants in Angul.

The managers are pretty rude. We ordered our food of which the main course came and one of the accomplices from the main course came pretty late. We decided to cancel the order which the manager told me that he wouldn't cancel and charge me for the fresh dish. Now when I asked him to call his boss and talk to him, stated that he is the boss of the hotel. Nevertheless, I went to their reception and asked the staff to see the manager of the hotel. The senior manager came but to my surprise he started talking in a polisher way to charge me for the dish. The prior manager also told me that since I am full so I don't want to eat. Now I HAD TO pay for the dish and I asked the staff and the manager to keep the food with themselves. I have stayed in different places and dealt with many restaurants of this reputation but to my surprise they have no courtesy and their staff is not at all professional. I would recommend everyone to not go to this restaurant and the hotel as well. There are a couple of good hotels to try but for sure not this one.

One of the best hotels to stay at Angul, perfect for both business as well as leisure trip. The check in and check out processes were smooth. The staff was polite and friendly. They have a restaurant, a cafe and a resto bar inside the hotel. The interiors were impressive. The rooms were quite clean and spacious. The washrooms were big too. There is a seperate parking space in the basement. There are also arrangements for drivers here. The complimentary breakfast was served at The Red Bowl. Food tasted average. Service was a bit slow. The wifi connection was available intermittently. Overall, a decent experience.

This hotel is located on highway in the centre of Angul city. Well maintained hotel. Hygienic and clean rooms. It has a bar also, one coffee shop which serve variety of snacks and soft drinks. One is a family restaurant which serves buffets and Al a carte meals. The food is tasty but rates are bit on higher side. Rooms are spacious. Hotel is a good choice for organising wedding, parties. It also has banquet hall and a lavish lawn. Also it has conference rooms to hold any official meeting.
