Hotel SDM Golden Tower - Hotel in Rameswaram - Ramanathapuram, India

This Hotel is located about 600 meters from Ramanathaswamy Temple east entrance. We are a family of 14 people on a pilgrimage tour. After a lot of research on the hotels near the main temple I have booked 5 rooms, 3 Superior Triple Bedrooms and 2 Deluxe Double Bedrooms in this hotel. Rooms are comfortable. Looks like the hotel is recently renovated/ refurbished. The interiors and bedding are in good condition. Bathrooms are decent size and the fittings in good condition. Overall it is value for Money. The Staff is cooperative and the service is good. The rooms and bathrooms are kept neat and tidy. We had dinner (vegetarian food) at the Hotel restaurant, taste of the food is excellent. The complimentary breakfast is good.

The hotel is nearby to the eastern entrance of the temple and walkable from the temple. Not a luxury one. After taking bath in the sea and the wells this hotel is a good option to change. From the Agnitheertham area you have to walk a little bit more but for Rameswaram its fine :). They have a private parking area a little bit far from the hotel and they have Valet Parking service. We opted self parking in their parking place and they provided two wheeler provided two wheeler service for our commutation between the hotel and parking lot. So its very convenient. Please do not park in the available small place place in the hotel, sometimes you may lose your time in waiting for the person parked behind you to remove the car. We have not tried the hotel food apart from the break-fast. For Rameswaram near by hotel standard the food here is better. Service and attitude of the staff was very good and they were ready to serve us with a smiling face always

It is a nice hotel. We were 6 and stayed in A17 for two days on November 23 and 24. The room was spacious. Clean and staff was courteous. However, price was on the higher side.

Positive: 1. The hotel is 5 minutes (approx) walking distance from Ramanathaswamy Temple. 2. Reception staff (Night Shift) was courteous. Negative: 1. Room is too small, if you just want to sleep go for it and should not pay more than INR 1500, excluding breakfast. 2. There is NO car parking on the hotel premises, you have to park your vehicle somewhere away. I requested and I was lucky since I parked my car in a corridor outside the hotel's entrance but had to submit my car key. 3. Bathroom had 2 big cockroaches. 4. Cleanliness was poor, especially bathroom flooring. If you have your own transport, I suggest you should stay in a hotel 1km to 1.5km away from the temple, the hotels are big and better. You can park your car near the temple since small private parking spaces are available. Poor

The room is not cleaned. Spider and mosquitoes are living in the room. No proper place to keep the suitcase. The bathroom is not maintained at all. Flush is not working. Water leakage is their. No proper hanger to keep the clothes in the bath room. The wardrobe is stinking. Bad experience with the hotel as well as with make my trip.

Guys Beware and Do your research and read thorough reviews and check rooms before paying if you are going directly . Rooms are small , dirty , bed sheets sucks , no hygienic , it seems when we arrived they have not cleaned bed rooms , bed sheets and even blankets, we have noticed cockroaches despite telling them to clean rooms before we arrive , pathetic service , pathetic rooms . We paid 3500 which is I don't think they deserve , I assume 500 rupees was best for the kind of service and look and feel factor . Try and check in at your own risk .

We had booked for 2AC rooms(3and 4persons), and the rooms were good. The only issue we noticed with the room- Water leaking from the ceiling. With the service regarding ordering from your room: Just ordering a tea took 40mins to deliever. The Restaurant downstairs was comfortable and had good food. Location: Just 5 Minutes walk from the temple. Verdict: Go for it. Its worth it.

I stayed on 12.11.2023. Very good hotel to stay. Easily approachable. Parking available. Nearer to temple. Walkable. Nice staffs. Restaurant is also good. Complementary breakfast. Little bit pricey compared to other. But it is worth spending.
