I recently had the pleasure of staying at the HOTEL SAPPHIRE, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. Yeah this is one of the few hotels in Police Bazaar which were affordable and clean during an off-season when I was there with my family.
Great experience.... Good food, cozy rooms and very supportive manager Puja, she was the sweetest and very helpful and the staff was also good. You can't get a better property then this in such close proximity to the market

Avoid this place... My aged parents are currently on a 3 night stay there. It's not a 3star hotel. They do not have electricity midnight 12 to 5am, management claimes it is load shedding but there is no alternate provision(generators/inverters)for even fans in the rooms. Also there is no warm water in the morning. Guests currently are warming water for a bath using the tea maker kettle in the room..
Nice rooms with fair prizing... Amenities can be still improvised . Overall good experience
Worst hotel experience ever....no lift no hot water no staff nothing....just nothing....it's not even better than any lodge...being in prime town like Shillong they should provide basic minimum facilities however it's big no....don't visit even if you have no option

Had a very pleasant stay. The cottage is very well maintained and furnished. Rooms were neat and clean. The owner of the property,Mr Darell is very soft spoken and helpful. Overall the stay was very cozy. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely stay at this property. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was top notch. Indian, khasi food and continental. Did not use the pool. But was looked very nice. Had great drinks and dinner at poolside bar.

You will actually feel like you are staying at home. I have visited Mawlynnong 3 times and every time I stayed in this homestay. Superb neat and clean place with decent basic eating options nearby.
