This place used to be good few years ago. But disappointed after the visit today. Seems like there has been zero attention on maintaining the quality of food as well as the ambience and cleanliness after renovation many years ago. Idly didn't taste good. Buns was ok ok. Vada was average. Tea was good. The plates and cups seemed as they are from 1947!
Good food and Rooms , have a local way of preparing popular dishes. Try out disco masala fry. Reasonable price. For NITK students your Sunday lunches might be here...as hostel mess does not serve fish. Small and ok place to come here regularly if you find their taste good.

We had shevai(don't miss the kurma), cucumber idli and kela bhajji. All of it was delicious. The coffee (without sugar) was perfect.
It used to be such a good restaurant!! For localites here and everyone passing through Surathkal it was a place to savour the south Indian and Mangalore delicacy. However saying all that now specially in 2023, I would not recommend anyone here just for their arrogant nature. Believe me they make you feel like you are eating there for free.! If this was one time it is still understandable anyone might have a bad day, but this is every single time you go they throw arrogance at you!! Either it be veg restuarant or the non veg one down side. Down side is more on the timings where they make faces after if you enter restaurant at 10pm even though closing time is 11pm Being a localite and resident of surathkal itself it makes me feel so bad that the Resturant which I used to recommend everyone over the years has turned this way! Food quality is ok. Not the quantity! Price is too high for all the items what you order. 6 tiny chicken pieces in a plate serves only 2.
Worst vegetarian food we had in long time. Local hotels offers a much better food than these people. Food was made in rush and it completely missed the flavour. I recommend you not to visit as per food quality provided charges are pretty hefty. Thanks!
