Hotel Ros Common - Hotel in Kasauli - Solan, India

It's lush green surrounded area with almost no traffic around. Great weather with Excellent hospitality. The only problem is rooms are too old since it's a tourism property and built from the British era so it has not been fully maintained but other than that no complaints we thoroughly enjoyed.

The hotel is situated good 700-800 mtrs from the Bus stand/parking. It is situated in the Lower Mall road. This acts as a disadvantage if you are walking alone from the upper mall or Bus stand towards the hotel after sunset. The road becomes totally empty and there are some patches where there's no street light too thus making it creepy to walk alone.This road only goes towards the Sunrise point & Manki point and it also has a shortcut to go to the upper Mall where Gilbert Trail and Sunset point are situated. The room I stayed in had 0 Internet connectivity.Onve inside the room I was cutoff from network as the phone network wasn't available too and Wifi also didn't reach. Biggest drawback of Room 1 is this. Food was good. Staff was very courteous and helpful. There is also a monkey menace in the garden. Room is spacious enough with hot and cold water. Working cable connection.

Rooms are old , as per the rates the price is not worthy..I called many times to book the room but no one picked it..may b they have less staff and there are only 2 rooms at upper level ,rest of the room are down.. I didn't like the place much..

Ross Common Kausuli is my favourite; I come here quite often. It has a very green and nice view. This time I took my 92-year-old mother; she enjoyed the homely atmosphere. We were 7 and booked 3 rooms. Incharge Kamal Kumar and his team gave good service. HP Tourism should renovate this heritage property; the condition of the rooms can be better as rates are already on the higher side. Otherwise, I love this place; in fact, I stayed one night in New Ross Common, which is of course new and very well furnished, but I will always prefer Old Ross Common.

If you are a budget traveller, this is probably the best option in Kasauli. It's around 750m from the market and well situated for other tourist points as well. You also get a spectacular view of the hills. The hotel is quaint and well maintained and the staff is very helpful and nice. Food is good too. For those coming in hired cabs, there's a rs 130 ticket at the checkpoint before you enter the town. If you get this ticket and show your booking details, your car will be allowed in. Cab drivers sometimes make you pay this money but say cars are not allowed in.

Nice place to have breakfast. We had Parotha and tea. All served well with the excellent viewing position.
