Hotel Raya's - Hotel in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur, India

This hotel is in the centre of the city (Kumbakonam). So getting into the hotel is little tough as there is heavy traffic. They have a restaurant there, but we didn't taste their food. The morning tiffin was bought from outside but was very very tasty. We hardly stayed there for 24 hours and so there was nothing to complain about. The staff were very caring. They have car parking facility also.

Very good hotel. The whole staff was very responsive even though we checked in late at night around 12 am. They maintained the room clean and they also provided complimentary water bottles and newspapers. AC was not working in the room we got so we asked the receptionist, he was very friendly and tried from their end but later they gave us a new room which was also very good. But only 1 drawback is for an extra bed, the quality of the bed is not very good and it feels like we are sleeping on a wooden bench. Apart from that the hotel deserves full marks.

I went with my family for 12 hrs stay.hotel is located in the middle of town, which is very easy to commute across the markets, hotels and other temples. The room is clean and well maintained, space inside the room is fit for my purpose, which I felt, it's sufficient for a couple, but I couldn't get a chance to explore other room types. The hotel is located very near to the mahamaham Tank. The rooms are well maintained and ample car parking space available in the back side of the hotel. The staffs are very nice. There is non-veg restaurant available in the same venue. They have 24 hrs check out which is good.

Room service and restaurant staff have to be more polite and courteous. Food was just below average and did not meet the hype. Pros. Available parking area, good ambience, nice receptionist, cleanliness.

Location- Centerally located- walking distance to kashi Vishwanath temple, shopping , Maha Maham tank. Buses to Airvateshwara temple stop right in front of the hotel. clean & Tidy rooms & bathroom. The bathroom has a fan too :) Service - the staff is very attentive & polite. Most of them are always expecting a tip for any service. One of the staff invited me to have coffee. After serving it, he didn't expect anything & continued small talk. I gave him 20 Rs, which is handed over to his supervisor. Next day, When I was going out for a morning walk, another one of them offered me coffee. I accepted the offer. The price tag for it was 35 rupees, which he slipped into his pocket. Check out- they gave an hour extension to check out. While checking in they try to talk you into booking taxi services. There were few reminders of taxi service , even when I was checking out of the hotel. As a solo travelers I prefer exploring using public transport or Auto. The place is 1 Km from railway station & the bus station. I've seen more of Kumbakonam taking the bus. I will definitely come back to stay here for future visits.

Very close to Mahamaham, and right next to the post office. Vegetarian food needs to be ordered. Even your morning coffee. Rooms are simple and clean. Fairly good service

Its located very close to Mahamaham tank.. Ample parking space available.. The staffs are very attentive and polite. The building is neat and pleasant.. The rooms are clean and cozy.. Absolutely no hazzle with A/c, heater or lighting.. Room service is prompt.. The staff are helpful with whatever clarification we would want to be cleared.. The restrooms are super clean and bright.. More than satisfactory.. Good to enjoy tight scheduled trips that calls for adequate rest.. I give 4stars.. One star less for there is space for improvement.. Coffee, tea, food are delivered to room on time!
