Hotel Pegasus Crown - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

This hotel was probably the Emmy worst experience in Shillong. The review may seem like it is a little over dramatic but honestly, that is how my experience was. I came to this amazing city for the Cherry Blossom festival. This hotel was 3-4 times its original price and was the most horrible decision. The staff is ignorant and unfriendly. Extremely rude and insensitive unlike the helpful people I've met during my trip. Me and my colleagues came back from the festival like so many other people in Shillong. There was no one at the reception to hand us our room keys so we decided to take it ourselves. The night attendant was almost impossible to speak to. Refused to tell his name, refused to talk decently and honestly was just ridiculous. He kept arguing, when I asked him to speak politely. The rooms, DO NOT go by the images, they gave me a very shady and off smelling room when I checked in. They said that the photos are of the 1k more expensive room which is world apart from that lower category room. No hot water in 12 degrees, clogged drain, dirty linen, no iron, no water or room support in the night after 11pm. My stay here was a nightmare. Please book any other place especially if you come from metro cities as your expectations need to be horribly low for you to accept staying at the hotel. The only good thing is the location and the bakery right outside the hotel.

Me and my friends had a very bad experience. The room was very disappointing and unhygienic. It was a total scam. The basin was clogging with water and the bathroom is so small that you can hardly enter. The room looks gloomy all the time. No proper light. When we entered the room the floor was flooded with water and so they shifted us to another room which was very uncomfortable and small. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Extremely disappointed. It was a total waste of money.

They could have provided us a better room with a better bathroom but we had to settle for one which was not at all working properly and unhygienic, even after we requested for a change of the room. However, the room we were provided the second time was good. They really need to work on it as people expect a good service from a place which has good past reviews.

Location wise, the hotel is in perfect spot. However, the washrooms in the hotel are not clean. The shower doesn't work, if shower works, the will be issue with basin.. we changed two rooms, 107 and 109, both has same problem.. the male receptionist, I don't recall his name, he was very unpleasantly arrogant. He told me while checking out,"we would have given you a go away gift, but since you didn't like our washroom, we won't give it." Point is we as client, we do not need you gift, give us the proper and hygienic service that we paid for. That would have been sufficient. Hence, the rating of 2 stars.

Not exactly as bad as we dreaded. Yes, rooms are old, parquet is heavily scratched and stained, bathroom is moldy. But we were lucky to have clean sheets, good hot water, and we found the service reasonably good and helpful. Plus location is very central. All in all, it's basic, but that's roughly what you can have for this price in Shillong.

I have visited 6 times in Shilong but this time my experience was so amazing because of this hotel. Room is good, staffs are good, location is good, food quality is good. My family felt so comfortable. Thanks Pegasus teams.

Waste of money. 1. Fake room photos were uploaded on makemytrip, I suggest don't book through makemytrip. Its a trap. 2. Washroom : chee chee 3:Rooms: curtains are as old as my grany and lights in the room seems like they are trying to save electricity bill I would suggest better stay at tent not at this hotel. Much better room were available in much better price than this hotel. Aged male receptionist was their who was not at all professional. Note: I had provide 1 star rating because this is the last option otherwise I would have provide -(minus) 10000 rating

Worst ever experience!!! AVOID. And trust me I have stayed in very great hotels around the world and it might be the lowest ever standard. I would rate negative if I could. Booked online in last moments, and regret every bit of that decision. The pics in google map and mmt are quite misleading. Don't go by them. Seems closer to Police Bazar, but the area turns into a clear brothel or red light area late into the night. The hotel interior is very very dull, so during night time the hotel feels very very shady and dull. Booked 3 Deluxe Rooms through MMT. Provided a room very different from other 2 rooms, of very very less quality. All rooms were very dirty. Toilets were very dirty and felt very enclosed with dull lighting. The fans didn't work in 1 room. No electricity all night. We had to physically go down to reception and check for electricity in morning around 7am. When you open up the window, you will get a lot of mosquitoes. No mosquito repellent provided. Dirty and old towels provided. In toiletries, only a medimix shop and 2 shampoo sachets provided - Something very less likely in a room which costs 4k+ per night. Like what is the cost even for?! Room service and hospitality is 0. Nobody picks the calls for room service, reception and house keeping. Had to come downstairs to talk to the executives. The executives are clueless and good for nothing. Nobody wants to take responsibility and provide you good hospitality. Its like they hired the most idiots there at very low cost even though the job role didn't match their skill set. Most of the frustrations could have been handled if there were good set of people handling the issues. And management doesn't care.
