Hotel Orchid Residency - Hotel in Darjeeling - Darjeeling, India

I visited here on 19/05/2022 for 1 night. As I have not advance booking of room I have got a room at ground floor. Rooms was cosy. No window, no view. However the location of this hotel is good. It located just upper side of clock tower. Chowrasta is hardly 10 minutes by walking

Pros: 1)location is good 2) staffs are cooperative Cons: 1) you have to climb around 35 stairs to get in ,which is difficult for old people . 2) no lights in the evening in the stairs. Stairs are very dirty and gloomy.. it is difficult to climb during night 3) room conditions are very bad..there are water leakage in 202..so room is damped.. 4) no one feel comfortable in this damped room 5) lights in the room is not glowing properly..few lights are blinking through the night.. 6) all plug points are not working ..so you can not use different points for charging simultaneously.. .. 7) room carpets are dirty.. it need replacement immediately.. 8) TV is not working..they have tried to fix the issue but failed..so u can not even watch the News at night. 9)no room service..no restaurant..they can dinner from nearby hotel but price is high.. 10) compared to other hotels, rate is very high . u can easily have more comforts with this high rate in another hotel.

The Hotel is good, but has no vehicular access to it's entrance, there's a stinky drain infront of it. Despite being a cold place and charging a hell lot of money per night, there's no complimentary breakfast, there's not even an electric kettle or room heater. Bathrooms don't have proper ventilation and in my short stay, the room I was provided with had a faulty TV.

A cozy place which I booked for just one day and ended up staying for the whole of my trip (3 days). The caretaker here was very friendly and polite. Always on call and would help you with almost everything. He could even arrange a taxi for you if you asked him to for your local sight seeing. Rooms are clean with a good balcony view and affordable prices.

It is the most pathetic Hotel in the country. I stayed in this Hotel for 2 days and they ruined my trip. They do not have water supply. I could not feshen up for two days. Room was so dirty and smelling so badly. Never stay at this Hotel.

We stayed a night there and it was horrible experience the pictures on the internet and the rooms there doesn't match at all. The bed had bugs in it and I wouldn't suggest anybody to stay there Unless it's emergency and they have no other option .. the management sucks but the guys in the reception are sweet they try to make it up for the managements fault and they are really helpful. The taps in the bathroom were leaking as well.

Very low standard hotel. All the walls are sealed so you can't spend a night here due to bad smell and cold . Only advantage is the location. Also you have to climb many stairs to reach the hotel. So if anyone in your family has knee problem or is old aged , don't book this hotel.

Appauling service. No food or restaurant. 100 mts above the ground. You have to climb stairs with your luggage. The hotel does not even provide room heaters. You can't part your car either, even for loading or unloading the luggage. It is very pricy as compared to the service or amenities.
