Hotel North Star - Hotel in Darjeeling - Darjeeling, India

Overall a good experience. Location is nearer to the mall road; just 5-10 min walking distance. Staff behaviour and room service was excellent. Food quality and test were also good. The view rooms are way better than the non-view rooms (road side). The following photo was taken from room number 402.

I recommend everybody not to book directly with this hotel. If you want to Book this hotel go for online booking through a reputed booking site. The hotel manager, Mr. Hari Prasad, engaged in unscrupulous practices by charging additional fees from the customer without providing a proper invoice. I stayed at this hotel last oct,in2023 with my family. I have a very bad experience with the manager and have to pay extra money in cash to stay there. The hotel room is good, and the service is also ok. But you may have to go through some harassment regarding money matters by the manager.

We opted for 2 hill view rooms at Hotel North Star Darjeeling. The view from the rooms (401 & 402 were given to us) was outstanding. The room was cozy and quite good as well, but nothing extraordinary. Pros - View from room, Cleanliness, 5 minutes walking distance from Keventer's, Service was also prompt Cons - It was difficult everytime for my parents to climb till 4th floor (but on requesting, on the second day of our stay they provided us one View room at 1st floor), Food ordered from hotel was bad Overall a good budget stay near Mall.

The hotel is fine. The room was ok for 4 guests (02 double bed room). They maintain the rooms and surrounding clean. The location is very good just 4-5minutes walkable distance to mall market, but a little bit at down side of the road. But for me the rent is a little bit high. One another thing is their food, was just average not so high figh.

Very bad experience. We booked the hotel several months ago for 9 families. On the day of check in, they suddenly cancelled our rooms and they changed our rooms to a low standard lodge. The owner, manager were very bad in terms of behavior, they refused to provide any sort of compensations for such an harassment. 27 of us were stranded in the streets looking for hotels even though full payment was done to the hotel authority. Such fraud wasn't expected from the so called "3 star" hotel. Not at all recommended.

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels to stay in Darjeeling, be it's location or service even their food. Everything is top notch. Seamless Wifi, stones throw distance from Kev's . 5-7 mins walk to the Mall road. If the weather is good , you can sip your morning tea , gazing at the mighty Himalayas. Large spacious rooms with modern amenities. The bathroom is clean and has hot water throughout the day which is really rare even in 4 or 5 star hotels of Darjeeling . The lights and ambience of the room were good. Bedsheets were clean and sanitized. Nearby activities Situated at the heart of Darjeeling the hotel is surrounded by shops and local vendors offering food, clothes etc. which makes the ambience good. Glenary's and keventers are one of the Restaurants situated at a walking distance from the hotel and in spite of being a hill station this place is open till at least 10:00 pm during Summers . Biggest plus point is the price it's not exorbitant rather reasonable considering the service they provide. They even provide free drinking water from an aqua guard which saves a lot of money . Courteous staff, always helping you. Cleaning the room everyday , always responds to the problems we addressed even if you called them multiple times they never hesitated to help us . We stayed 4 nights here , we can proudly say that what we experienced here ,is worth every penny. Special mention for the manager of this restaurant, great support and an amazing person , he is so sweet and nice and has a great sense of humour.

I came from Digha to Darjeeling for traveling purpose with my parents. We spend 4 nights in this hotel. The room was very nice and the behavior of the staffs extremely good. Food was very delicious. The manager of this hotel Hari Yadav is sober,gentle and quiet friendly. This hotel is situated nearby Darjeeling Mall.We enjoyed here in outstanding mood.

We stay in this hotel for 3 nights in Deluxe Room (Mountain View) We fully enjoyed our stay Staff is very Cooperative and Polite specially Manager Mr Hari Yadav who cares for you all needs. I strongly recommend if you are in Darjeeling you must stay in this Budget Hotel cut short Paisa Vassol.
