Hotel New Castle - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

The only reason to stay here is because it's across from the Sikkim shared taxi stand and nearby the other taxi stand for West Bengal. The rooms have nice views but that's about it. They are old, the bedding is torn, there were tons of bugs, there's no kettle to heat water, the bathroom needs to be refurbished and the wifi barely worked. The restaurant downstairs under the hotel seems to not have anything on the menu available and there's only a few restaurants nearby.

Hotel New Castle is a great place to stay. Centrally located, good and clean rooms and outstanding service. We used room service extensively, which was very prompt. The food was tasty, we had almost all the meals here. I had aged parents with me, who couldn't climb stairs, so they accommodated them on the lower floor. They provided excellent guidance to us for our Gangtok and Nathu La Pass tour. Overall, an excellent stay and I would surely recommend this place to others.

Excellent rooms with brilliant service and the food in their own restaurant is very tasty.

Had great experience staying in this hotel. Ambiance is good, food was good and at the most service and staff were very cool and helpful. One suggestion, you can add microwave in your rooms that will help guest to use when required, as the weather there most of the time is cold.

Best service from the hotel staff. 24*7 room service. People were very cordial too. They treat the guests with utmost care and respect. Will love to stay again. There is issue of parking. They do not have a large parking. Only one vehicle can be accommodated. But their behaviour and service is really 5 star. They clean the room everyday. Very clean and comfy rooms. We stayed in suite. It was beautiful.

The staff's attitude and service was excellent. They were prompt and responsive to all of our little needs and made sure to fullfill it well. Further, Ravi (the manager), was very hospitable and effective manager. He gave us a suite room instead of the deluxe since it was available, and the room was very spacious and had an epic view of Gangktok and the hills around. The location of the hotel is quite good too: it's in the middle of Deorali bazaar with easy access to shared/private taxis to reach any part of the town.

Was here on work for just a day but the good review and different sites gave us confidence to book new castle Genuinely good service. We reached late but they opened up their restaurant for us to have a meal and clean rooms. Hot water good taste food.. Lovely ambience. Really appreciated Ravi &Rajen service keep it up.. Restaurant staff very friendly and good service....
