Hotel Navaratna Palace - Hotel in Karwar - Uttara Kannada, India

Location is good as its hardly 300metre from Karwar beach. Rooms are not clean and you would find cockroaches and mosquitoes. So have some pest killers with you if you plan to stay. The reason I stayed here was due to last time booking, so thankful to this hotel to have some rooms when others were completely booked up. Its 15mins distance from Karwar railway station by car.

I found this hotel very elegant, the construction is of very fine materials which are a pleasure to touch, fine stone trim throughout the place. It was very clean. The price for my room was printed so I didn't have to waste time discussing the price, it was 750, very reasonable. The room was a single on the third floor, very clean. I had a powerful fan that kept me cool. I don't know what everyone is complaining about! I was impressed with what I got. The staff were efficient, they weren't rude to me at all.

Rooms were adequate. The prices are on the higher side.

We checked in the lodge late evening & were tired. The first thing we encountered entering the room was so many cockroaches playing hide & seek inside the washroom. We informed the lodge person after which he sprayed the insecticide, even though the issue wasn't completely solved. I ain't sure how hygienic the place would be with such occurrences. The room had AC which wasn't working I doubt, we didn't need it so not a big deal. Good thing, TV works.. Not so good, we don't watch. The rooms didn't have towels n soaps which after informing the front desk; were provided but the bed here are so uncomfortable. Whole night whenever you turn even slightly it will start making loud squeaking noises. The pillow were big n uncomfortable as well, some might prefer hard pillows. Also, you'll constantly here outside noises throughout. The bathroom had cold water tap which was difficult to turn off. Hot water was available in the morning though with fine working tap. The overall hygiene is bad and I personally won't recommend stay here.

Strictly budget hotel. Reasonably clean but quite a bit of shortcomings 1. No lift 2. Towels wont be provided as such, need to ask 3. Water is also not provided proactively. 4. Hot water tap is unreliable. There's a common tap for hot water, need to fetch from there. 5. Room wont be cleaned daily nor sheets will be changed.

This is poorly maintained old Lodge. I booked a room and the rooms stinks. I immediately vacated and shifted to a better hotel which charge 500 rupees more than this lodge. Since I had made the payment, so did not get any refund as I opted to checkout. No Lift, even luggage was carried by myself to 1st floor. Not even worth paying 600-700 bucks for stay.

I stayed here along with my friends for one day. The experience here was terrible. first of all, the staff at reception were very rude. The room was also very unclean and it stinks. The bathroom also was very gross and disgusting. The mattress had dust coming out of it. We somehow managed to stay here as we didn't have any other option.

Average place to stay mostly for emergency. Rooms are average.
