Hotel Mali - Hotel in Kottayam - Kottayam, India

Decent rooms at decent price close to railway station. We visited for sabarimala visit. Bathroom was clean and hot water was available at 2 am in the morning. ATM in the same building as well. Room was spacious and decently clean but pretty old style.

Extremely poorly maintained. Wall sockets are loose. Unclean curtains. Most importantly Lifts are old, dangerous and not working sometimes. We came with travel agency that's why we had to stay here for a night. Toilets could have been cleaner. While rain the staircases are flooded with water.

Its safe place but the towel they give for bathing is not properly clean I'm very unsatisfied with that other room service are exllent

We purchased dinner from Uduppi restaurant from Mali hotel and we had horrible experience. We purchased them at 5 pm to have dinner at the train. Knowing that these were parcels and will be consumed only in the train, they used a batter which was extremely sour and spoiled and all the sambar packets provided were spoiled at 7 pm. We purchased this for seven people which includes four kids and the bill cost was 755 INR, which is a complete waste. This post is to warn ppl who were figuring out some hotels to purchase packed food near Kottayam railway station for their journey. Please dont trust the name uduppi and buy parcel from here.

Being close to railway station is the only advantage to this hotel. Rooms are big enough but the amenities and service do not match the price. Poor in maintenance and cleanliness. Lifts get stuck during power failures, computers get stuck during billing process and the whole building stinks some time. Water is good and fixtures are proper. Overall adjustable experience for emergency situations.

Very old building location is near Railway station .... They are charging rs 1500 for a normal room

The only advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the railway station; just a minute's walk. The hotel is not well maintained. Not even cleaned. There is a stink all over the place. If there is a way to record that stink you won't even think of making a reservation there!!

A decent place for a night stay. Not to expect much otherwise
