Nice place to have your breakfast..

Every time I cross makkutta forest, I stop here and have a tea. Black tea here is really good

Very nice local restaurant. Food is very delicious at very very reasonable price. Please note that after this restaurant you will enter in to reserved forest and there is no shops till the reserved forest which is almost 19 km stretch. Do better to have a break here and take some refreshments before entering in to the reserved forest.

Another usual spot for having a tea/coffee during my travel from Kannur to Bangalore. The ambiance or the outside view is very prompted to have a coffee and breathe the pure air. I had breakfast from there, not sure about the other times. Having a good parking space, and it's near to a lake, which is much pleasing. After the flood happens in Kerala most of the places become dump, but this place become much more attractive.

Located on main road and can be easily accessed from main road. Vehicles should be parked on road sides. Food is average as this is just a simple hotel. Bamboo leaf lunch is provided during afternoons. Almost all long route vehicle have a break here for refreshments

Monkeys own hotel Please be careful if you have any packets that monkeys could misunderstand as food, they may take it away and rarely there are cases they attacked humans, so be careful.. they shouldn't be fed by us in fact they should be left to find their food from the forest, but people make them addicted to packed foods, so now they are waiting in flocks for the mercy of the crowd and many time both sides hurt bad due to various reasons

Nice place for a descent break

It is on the way to Mysore before the entering to the hilly forest. Only kerala local homely foods are available apart from the packet snacks. Nice place for a pit stop and relax before entering the forest. Average toilets available at this location which is independently located on the other side of the road.
