Hotel Maharaja Shimla with Lazeez Restaurant - Hotel in Shimla - Shimla, India

We had a peaceful stay there, our room had a eye pleasing view. Hotel staff is nice & Cooperative. Food is homelike and best thing it's walking distance to mall road but as vehicle is not allowed upto the hotel so it's not comfortable for elders people.

Genuine hotel, food quality is good at reasonable price, staff behavior is good, nice location, room quality is good, complementary breakfast is available, free wifi, every room has smart lock system with key-card, I like that one. I recommend Hotel Maharaja.

Not a good option. That's an one liner I can say about this hotel as it has more cons than pros. Cons: 1. Location - one of the biggest disadvantage of this hotel. Cars cannot reach to this hotel, it's even far from Mall road so not even a we can say walking distance from Mall road, and the main way to their hotel is that you have to walk all the way up on the hill and with your heavy luggage. 2. View - If you want a hotel with good view, then unfortunately this is not the right option. This hotel is surrounded by buildings so hardly 2 rooms have mountain view. 3. If you are going in winters, so heater is a mandatory thing and they will charge extra for that, 500rs per day which you need to keep in mind before keeping the hotel budget. 4. Restaurant - As there are no restaurants nearby, so only option left is to have food in hotel restaurants which is not at all tasty. Pros - After the cons of this hotel, let's have some pros of this hotel. 1. Hot water Issue - I have encountered water issues at some other hill stations, but I haven't faced hot water issues in this hotel. 2. Reaching to the hotel with your luggage is a big big issue, but one good thing is that hotel folks can arrange a porter for your luggage if you call them, but ofcourse we have to pay them extra. 3. Room size was okay, like a standard size. So, I personally faced those cons and have a more impact than pros. That was my genuine review. :)

Overall stay was nice. It has got it's own restaurant. Food was tasty and we enjoyed it. Rooms were neat however bathroom was not deep cleaned. I am not sure if this hotel can offer any room with a view so please check with hotel in advance. Hotel is located at hilltop so you need to walk a steep to reach out. Not recommended for aged or older travellers. Its a five storay building and there is a lift which can take you down to your floor.

It was a decent stay although little tough to come from railway station but it is very well connected and accessible from mall road. Food is also tasty and fresh. Staff is polite and well mannered.

I really enjoyed my stay here at the premises The hotel staff is really polite and the taste of the food is delicious . I had my breakfast and it was really delicious. Loved it very much. Highly recommended

This hotel is no longer in tie up with OYO. Had to pay more in order to get a stay there. The quality has fallen a bit since I have visited this place twice. Mall road is at a distance of 10 minutes. There are lot of monkeys around. If you leave the windows open the monkeys will come in. Can't roam around alone at dark as the monkeys also steal things from your hand, especially food. The food service is good and hygiene. The staffs are polite. Rate is little on the higher side. I was charged 4k per night.
