Hotel Kumararraja Palace - Resort hotel in Yelagiri - Tirupathur, India

The outside premises are appealing. The rooms were clean but old-fashioned. The pool is closed. The person at the front desk said it has been closed for a year. However, the hotel is still advertising it online. Also, it is a safety hazard as they have not closed it off. A child fell into the pool when we were there. The food was a disappointment. We reached latefor the lunch buffet (with 15 minutes to go for closing time) . The hotel does not refresh dishes that are running low. For example, an egg curry was replenished by just adding a lot of boiled eggs with no curry. The taste was strictly okay. The complimentary breakfast was a little better. The children's play area is good and well maintained. Overall layout of the hotel is good.Overall, it was an average experience.

Honest review : The hotel is good but it is not maintained at all. Ordinary rooms with dirty linens are not worth the price. Pool water did not look fresh. They have a restaurant also. The food tasted good but the complimentary breakfast buffet served was cold. They did not even bother to put it on warmer. Please note we went in August so not sure if it was because of the off season. For kids there is a playground and it is within Yelagiri city.

It's a very old hotel and it's a big one. Many rooms are available. Breakfast is fantastic with typical Tamilnadu style. Rooms r spacious and good. Bathroom needs modification to latest style.

Staff were courteous and helpful. Suggestions for improvement: For the price that is being paid you would expect a good quality room. The bathroom was not at all up to standard. The soap and shampoo were of very poor quality for a 4 star hotel. It took some time to get hot water. The swimming pool looks good from the outside , but looks like no effort was taken for maintenance. Its not temperature controlled. Water was too cold. The water was hazy/dirty. A good swimming pool water must be clear that you can see the floor of the pool. Additionally the barricade pillars which separate the children's pool from the adult's pool were worn-out and potentially could tear the skin of the kids. The staff warned us about it but what are they doing about the issue? If its potentially unsafe and injurious it needs to be fixed before waiting for an accident to happen and the authorities might completely shut down the place. On the positive side the meals in the restaurant were pretty tasty. The park for the children was well maintained

This was my favourite stays for past 6 years and i mark this as my last visit. Starting with reception, there was no information about WIFI and other details. Rooms were not clean enough and especially restroom (cockroach). Had complained abt that we are not able to make call to Restaurant and it was not rectified till we left. Restaurant guys were very rude - Never expected this. We ordered some dishes and it was costly (Not a Main concern). But overall it was a bad experience and NOT WORTH FOR MONEY. Last note, when I asked for feedback book, they said please post in Google reviews. They didn't even ask if any bad or good experience with the stay, so that they could improve.

Decent property, swimming pool is a plus here. Toilets could have been maintained better. Restaurant staff needs to be more courteous. Worth it if you pay around 3k-3.5k, above that you'll deserve better maintenance.

Went for our Friends son 1st birthday party, the overall experience and service was pathetic, no proper sign boards to show us the way to the hotel, the kitchen was closed at 10pm and said they can't provide even coffee or tea or milk.. Not a friendly environment and going with family especially with kids please pack your own food requirements, because the hotel will definitely say either they don't have or they won't provide, 40 of us went there and we booked around 15 rooms, most of us had kids and babies and we expected they do provide us milk atleast if needed in the late hours..second when we asked for extra drinking water bottle they said they don't have stock, food was not great, no hot water to bath when asked in the reception they said to waste around 6 buckets then hot water will come but even after wasting 10 buckets we didn't get hot water we felt very bad for wasting so many buckets of water as Chennaites we know the importance of water.. they were about to charge us even for using swimming pool..

This place has become very bad. I've been coming here for more than 8 years but in the recent past it's horrible. The rooms are not clean, the staffs are not helpful and there's NO WIFI. For a place which is priced high it should be better. It just looks like a lodge now. It's been years since they've even clean under the bed. Please choose hotel hills or sterling instead.
