The restaurant on the ground floor was good once. It is a big disappointment now. The food is just fine, service is bad and so is the ambience. I asked the waiter to change the glass as it was not clean, he washed it himself and gave it back but it was still not clean. So I asked him to change the glass again which hurt his ego making him rude. I even tried the rooms above the restaurant. Rooms are strictly okay, cleanliness is again bad especially in the washroom, wash basin broken, staff is dumb, room lock was not working properly, the bedsheet too had a big hole in it. Extremely disappointed. I would suggest not to stay here but if you have to, do bargaining. It's not worth the money though.
Haunted Premise We had our guests resting at this hotel during my brother's wedding. One of the rooms were reported to make continuous noise of door knob , as if it's being opened and closed continuously from outside. Every relative staying in room couldn't sleep for the whole night. Such a horrifying experience they had in kolkar's hotel. Also, I was promised for hot water from electric geyser. The machine wasn't functioning well and staff was reluctant to give buckets filled with hot water. I won't recommend this premises to anyone. Owner should perform exorcism processes and purify premises before running this business.
Really bad service, booked this hotel by booking, and when I arrived, they told me that it was fully booked, and that I was at the wrong hotel. They send me to another hotel, and the other hotel didn't know anything about it, so I went back to this hotel, and they said they couldn't help me. I needed to pay a taxi twice to switch from hotel, and they were very intimidating. They stood with 5 persons behind me, and asked if I want to go with them to a private room (I think without CCTV) please never book this hotel! I paid for the room and didn't get any money back! They are aggressive en really intimidating! So DONT book this hotel!!
Rooms are okay. Not great. Ceiling lights were not working properly. Only the service is good. Would recommend some other hotels at the same price or little higher, in the same area.
Was here for stay enroute Matheran some time back. It's a very good budget stay. Pros: Helpful staff, prompt service, good ambience Cons: Washrooms could be cleaner but I am told that renovation is already planned & these things will be addressed anyway.
