Hotel Golden Pagoda - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

Toilet was very dirty, no soap was given, no hot water was available to have bathe, geyser wasn't working no proper electric point was available to charge mobile set. had north Indian dinner which was horribly prepared taste was very bad. no room service was there, ordered for breakfast on 18th morning at 8.45 am, couldn't serve on time even after waiting for 1 hour after olacing the order. Had to wait at their restaurant in the top floor and ultimately cancelled the order after 1 hour and came back without having breakfast. had breakfast in a nearby restaurant. Overall, the location of the hotel was really very good.

Bang on M G Marg, location is the best USP of this property. The service is not up to the mark, the room tariff starts from 2.5k, but if you need a room facing MG Marg you need to shell out more. There is a restaurant on the top floor and they serve only vegetarian dishes.

I just visited the restaurant because it is a pure vegetarian restaurant, The experience is totally worst.. first the staff is very rude, next in the thali they only give 2 roti, third when you will call them they will not listen and will ignore.. the staff is totaly unprofessional... No body was in the restra ... All has started avoiding this restra at MG marg, Gangtok... Friend horrible experience.. I am a business traveller...

It is a beautiful hotel at the heart of M. G. Marg. The rooms are quite beautiful but i am not happy with the quality of food which I ordered. The food was so spicy that I couldn't eat it. Even the Quantity wasn't sufficient. It's a family hotel and it's restaurant is on the top floor. You will get beautiful view from the windows. I loved the hotel for its location as it is easily accessible and affordable as well.

Pros : The hotel is situated at very convenient location on the MG Marg, the mountain view from the Super Deluxe room is good, check in process simple, rooms are Ok. Cons : The hotel service is very poor, when we checked in we found there is no drinking water in the room, no toiletries in the toilet, no remote for the TV, left over item by previous guests. In the night it has mosquito problem but they don't provide you any mosquito repellant even after telling for 2 days. The food at cafeteria is also not good. The travel desk charges much higher rate compare to cabs available locally. Cleanliness is not proper. Apart from location I won't say it's much worthy for the money they are taking.

The staffs are decent, the hotel is at a excellent location right inside the MG Marg market and a great view of the city but as always there's a couple of bugs; number one is that the hotel is too far from the nearest parking lot/structure like 400 m and that too after climbing 60-70 steps/stairs, and the second being the rooms are too cramped without a place to stand and drape a saree, that left my lady disgruntled. Lastly the toilet seats are at a very uncomfortable height of 2 & 1/2 feet above ground. Also, the restaurant is a rooftop one, greatest view, worst climb after a tiring day.

Actually I wanted to give it 3.5 stars .. Exactly located on mg marg mall road . Mountain view room gives you beautiful view .. But room was small and we three adults had to adjust accordingly ..Bathroom lock was broken . We have not tasted their food so dont have any idea . But overall okay-ish for a night stay
