Hotel Girivihar - Hotel in Matheran - Raigad, India

We had booked two rooms from 13th November to 16th November, 2023 for 3 nights for 4 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 4. The rooms were quite spacious and the food also was good. However the basic amenities were inadequate. There was no water heater in the bathroom and hot water was available for a limited period only. Internet services as well as mobile connections were not available in the rooms. These are areas which can be looked into and improved. The owner's son was very courteous and helpful as well, especially when we were faced with a medical emergency. However the attitude of the owner of the property, Mrs.Smita Acharya, left much to be desired. We were to check out by 10.00 a.m. which was done. From the previous evening she would send frequent reminders through the staff to check out at 10 a.m. This was totally unnecessary as we had already agreed to comply with the check out rules. We were waiting for our pick-up vehicle when my granddaughter aged 4 wanted to go to the toilet. Since the rooms had not been handed over to the next occupant and there was no toilet facility except in the rooms, my granddaughter used the toilet of one of the rooms earlier occupied by us, Mrs.Acharya expressed her unpleasantness in no uncertain terms. In fact she went to the extent of telling my wife "why are you all passing time here when the rooms have been vacated. Take the child to the road outside for toilet. "The language and tone of speaking were very offensive especially since she was interacting with a customer.

Hi All, We are around 25 people (Adult+child) visited on 24 & 25 August at this place. This is a very nice place to enjoy your stay in Matheran. Food, Service and Location is very good and you will get 100% peace. The kids also enjoyed it lots. The property area is also very clean and maintained. Thanks to Smita Madam for all their coordination and guidance. I would definitely recommend this place.

Really good place to stay for your holiday. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Bathrooms big and clean. The Host Ms. Smita too is really very sweet and she personally takes care of every guest and their requirements. Food tasty and the variety was good. Their restaurant is very hygienic. And ambience outside the rooms was beautiful. A sure recommendation.

Overall, I had a great experience with the Girivihar Hotel; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great heritage property. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate the monsoon.

If you are looking for something good. then, please visit this place. Best place to hang out with your friends & family. The hotel is located near a beautiful point and lake. Neat and clean rooms with proper maintenance. The quality of the food is awesome. Apart from that, they have different games to chill out.

Rooms were ok. Service was trash and i wont even consider to go there again because of the location. It is too far from the toy train station. The food served was tasteless and they dont even provide tea for evening. They cost you 2000 per person per day and i would recommend going somewhere else .

Nice hotel in matheran so far. Great location and ambience. Food quality is too good. Overall a great experience. Recommended for all family and couples.

Very clean. Close to nature. Lots of greenery to roam around and enjoy. Friendly host.
