Hotel Ezhuthani - Restaurant in Keralapuram - Kollam, India

Idk what people are on about. I have tried their mutton and parotta 3 times and it is abysmal. The mutton is hard and the gravy is just Kashmiri chilli powder without any flavor. Even the parotta is not soft. Their so-called vettu cake is the only edible stuff. I hope this place closes down.

Overrated AF,I dont know why it is popular their porotta and mutton was mediocre,their vettucake was the only good item. Very expensive considering the quality they provide

In last 10 years, when ever I visit kollam , I hear lot about ezhuthani hotel - old. Good Mutton is their speciality & Cut cake. Finally last day I got a chance to eat food from Ezhutani hotel. According to me, didnot meet my expectation. I expected the traditional curry taste. But all the curries are excessive with Kashmiri chilly powder. It didnt taste good. I tried Chickpeas curry, egg curry & mutton curry. All had excessive amount of Kashmiri chilly only. Cut cake taste good.

Was one of the best mutton and porotta in town . But currently not in its old prosperity. Porotta is very hard , you can even kill your friend by throwing a porotta .

Food quality is very bad and mutton curry is not at all speicy ,and don't have taste at all I never eat any mutton curry like this. Dosa is also not tasty . This hotel will close soon if this will go in this manner.

This is not my first visit. Have been there many times in last 12 years. Reviewing for the first. Their highlight was special mutton curry & porota with papadam and vettu cake (made with maida sugar and cardamom) & tea. Now current reality the quality and quantity of mutton curry have gone down very drastically and it's really sad. No taste whatsoever. I would give a 2/5 for mutton curry and porota as on 10th July 2022. Not at all justifiable for the price charged . Now the very famous vettu cake (cut cake)- Thank God, they still maintain quality and taste for this dish. It's a perfect combo with their tea. Was and Is 5/5 for the cake.Do try. You have dine in and takeaway. Their menu consists of Appam, Porota, Idiyappam, Mutton curry, Kadla curry, Egg curry, vegetable curry with papadam. Simple menu but failed to keep up the quality. Ezhuthani kada is the landmark food spot of Keralapuram. One of the very old hotels in Kollam, since 1948. Ezhuthani kada is known for their yummy porotta, mutton curry, pappad & salad combo. Ezhuthani vettu- cake is also a famous items perhaps the most parceled food item from kollam indirectly.
